Is Busch Gardens worth the hour drive from Orlando?
I wanted to take my 4 year old twins to the Elmo safari area; and they love animals.
My other kids are 10 and 8.
Would Universal be just as good taking in Suess area and Barney, etc.

We are doing Sea World and Discovery cove as well.

I personally think the Universal parks are a lot better than BG. To me Universal and Disney are on about equal par as far as the level of theming, detail, just the rides etc. BG is a good park, but its real close to the Six Flags type of park, it has more theming and a bit of a zoo, so it is on a higher level than the Six Flags parks, but with all that, I still think the Universal parks are the best.

We love Busch Gardens Tampa Bay! We have been more times there than to any other theme park in Florida. (we pick one or 2 a year to go to.)

Since 2001 we have been to BG 5 times, Universal 2 times, Seaworld 1 time and Disney 3 times.

Disney is by far our favorite... but we always want 7-10 days there if we go. When we are doing a beach vacation we love to sneak in a couple days at BG.

Good luck! Have a great trip!

Don't know if they still have them, but Universal Studios used to have Animal Planet shows that your children would enjoy.

We saw this two weeks ago again. It is a really cute show.

I think Busch would be a good choice, I do love both parks but Busch Gardens is one of my favorite theme parks, I also wouldn't exactly compare it to a Six Flags, the only way I'd compare the two is in thrill factor! Busch has plenty of thrilling rides as well as shows! And another place all the kids would enjoy is probably Jungala which includes a huge play place that offers some interesting point's of views of the animals in the area. (My favorite is the tiger pop up where you go up a small ladder and your basically in the tiger habitat! -seperated by thick glass of course- Its really neat!)
