:wave2:Hi all...we are headed down for a non park heavy vacation in June. We would like to take the kids to Universal for one day. Which park would you choose? The kids are 10, 9, 9, and 6. Also, is the dinning plan a good deal? Thanks in advance.

I would pick Island of Adventure over Universal because it is a bigger park with more rides and more to do, and the BIG ONE, it has Wizarding World of Harry Potter and 3 Harry Potter rides.

I don't think the meal plan is a value unless you plan on eating 3 meals with it. You can eat cheaper just paying out of pocket.

As far as which park goes, you should check out the website to see which attractions you'd be interested in seeing. The meal deal is really only good if you have people who like to eat a lot and with four relatively young children, you'd be better off sharing meals which you cannot do on the meal deal.

totally agree on this advice.
the website will give you height requirements and details of the rides.

check out both parks to see which one has more appeal to the family.

they both have qualities in them that will draw in families.

Like the previous posters mentioned, go on the website and have a look.

However, my advice with your family would be Islands of Adventure...I think it is more geared towards kids and tweens, where Universal Studios is more geared towards adults and movie fans.

I would consider the meal plan, though. Look online to find info and menus, but if you plan on eating lunch and dinner, plus getting a couple of snacks, it very well may be worth it. Unlike the Disney plan, you can go through the line as many times as you want throughout the day, and you are not limited to just getting complete entrees. You can just get desserts, you can just get snacks/side... Also, unlike Disney, you don't have to get it for everyone in your family...so if one kid is a big eater, and one isn't, you only have to get one plan for the big eater.

Kids 9 and under are only $10. You'll pay almost that for one meal. Adults are $21, but again if you are doing lunch and dinner, and snacks, it is worth looking at.

The unlimited refill souvenir cups are separate, though, just like Disney...but they are only $9.

Thanks so much for the replys...we look forward to a universal experience. We are leaning towards IOA.
