Universal is releasing Peter Pan?

Just back from seeing Freaky Friday and noticed a poster for Peter Pan by Universal for Xmas. I am surprised that Disney allowed this to happen. Anyone know?

There is another thread about this buried somewhere. Apparently, Disney does not own the rights to Peter Pan but only their own version. This will be a live action version and hopefully it'll be better than Hook, at least IMO.

I loved Hook..
Disney does not own the rights to Peter Pan, just like they do not own the rights to Cinderella or Pinnochio. They own the rights to their versions.

Yep, the original Peter Pan was a play written by J. M. Barrie. Anyone can make there own version of Peter Pan, as long as they made a deal with The Great Ormand Street Hospital for Sick Children (the hospital Barrie gave the copyright to) and they don't infringe on the appearance of anyone else's Peter Pan.
