Universal is much better than WDW!!!

We are heading to US in early Jan15, it will be our first time staying on site very excited, we usually stay at WDW and take a day at US, so this will be so nice to have the EP, we have never had that luxury. We have not been able to do Despicable Me yet, it was always 70 minutes or more when we would get over there from IOA! Does anyone know what crowd levels will be like Jan 4-7?? It will be after the holidays so hoping it will be decent, plus having the EP will make such a difference. My kids and me are huge HP fans so DA is so exciting to us. HPFJ, is by far my favorite ride ever! I do love WDW as well but WWoHP is by far superior to most areas at WDW, could be because I am a super fan as well. Good info on here Thanks!

Alot of kids are out of school till the 5th.The crowds should die down about then.As long as you have the onsite access and express pass, you will find it easy to do what you want even with long waits.

Being diehard Disney fans, we first decided to do a split stay between Disney and Universal. Then i kept reading more and more about how awesome Universal is. So we thought about it and priced out going an extra day to only Universal....and found it would save us $2600!:dance3:

We're debating where to stay. We've stayed at the GF at Disney, and we're looking at either Portofino or Royal Pacific. I have no idea which to choose. Both look really great. So I just continue to pour over everyone's comments to help us choose!

All i know is everyone is getting me SO excited to go to Universal.....and it doesn't sound like we'll regret missing Disney at all. :goodvibes

This will be our third stay at Royal Pacific. It was one of our favorite resorts at either park. It really does remind you of being in Borneo. It is so gorgeous and we love walking the crowns with the lit lanterns and beautiful landscaping. Their pool is great, too. Their food is some of the best and the rooms are terrific. And it has such a pretty walk to the parks around the water and under the bridge. We had originally booked Cabana Bay which, of course, is cheaper -- but we knew we'd regret it when we got there that we weren't at Royal Pacific.

One thing to note, about posting on the other areas is that it's pretty well known that some people are possibly "plants" for Disney...just like on twitter and other places...they will tow the company line no matter what, because they get benefits for doing so.

Then you have people like the one that appeared on a local news station talking about the new Frozen summer stuff, was asked about Harry Potter and replied with "I know not of which you speak" :confused3

If you like the GF stay at The Portofino for sure, you cannot miss. I have had the pleasure of staying at all three and the Portofino is tops with Hard Rock second and then the Royal Pacific. I think all three are four or five star but the Portofino is a destination in itself:cool1: Just my two cents.
