We are staying at Pop Century (first time), Sept 29th to Oct 8, then one night room only Oct 9, then going to Hard Rock Hotel :smooth: Oct 10 - 15 (big bucks for us $259 US per night) - has anyone stayed there? Is it worth it? It's my DH 40th, so big splurge - we have a DS 12, DD 9 - is it worth the big splurge?

We stayed there a few years ago and loved it. Great hotel, great pool, so close to the parks and front of the line perks are the best.

Have a great time.

The kids will love the theming. We stayed there a few years ago and had a Deluxe Queen Room which meant everyone had their own sleeping space. The room was huge by Disney standards (not that we were there a lot) and you can easily walk to the parks from there. For a special treat, look at renting a cabana by the pool if you're not planning on doing a park one day.

Sherry and Janet are right - the best part of staying at a Universal resort is the FOTL access. I remember late one night we did MiB about four times back-to-back-to-back-to-back (you get the idea) and each time we passed the same group of people waiting in the regular peon line. To quote a Mastercard ad, the looks on their faces were priceless. ;) And bypassing a 90-minute wait to get into Shrek by just walking up - it's worth it...

We stayed there in January, we loved the place!!! Stayed in the hot tub as we were the only ones in the pool at night (Canada eh :cold: ), my kids felt like the place was theirs. I agree with everyone else. It's worth it for the FOTL pass as well. The look on peoples face is "priceless" when you pass them again.

Do you have CAA? We got our pool view room with CAA rate @ $189. That was in the off season. We learned on our last day all Universal restaurants and stores take 10% off with CAA.

AAA rate is $233 for a garden view. I would imagine that because this is high season for Universal because of the Halloween celebrations, the rate is high.

Keep checking for lower rates.

Yes it's expensive $259 - didn't try for CAA rates, not a member but would certainly become one, but we got two adult passes and a kids pass included at this price (we'll have to buy one more adult for DS 12). I'll have to check the CAA rate, thanks to both of you for the idea, I just thought they had AAA. I made a reservation as I was told they always sell out the weekend we are there (Halloween Horror Night) but will keep checking back. We are so excited!!!!

:wave2: If you got the park passes with that price than I think you got a pretty good deal. Have fun!
