Universal hotels very cheap.

Can't find anything for the 20th, indirect £589 each is best I saw from manchester. Makes my Biz class at £465 look cheap now:goodvibes
Why can't you go week earlier from Gatwick? anyone that has a few miles to use can get a bargain holiday with Virgin and this hotel deal. Fly out on the 13th £175 +25,000 miles pp
Will keep my eyes open and let you know if I see anything.

Wifes holidays are fixed at the min, will have a word when she gets in from work later, thanks for looking.

Hard Rock Hotel Universal From £346
Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal From £378

Try again, if you don't see them give me your dates and I will try.

It is amazing that a week costs far less than 4 nights. Is it worth getting an AP if you stay a week or what would the best ticket option be?

Folks

Looking for some opinions here.....

Honeymoon this summer and first 4 nights are at AKL.

After that, currently have 1 night at RPR and 12 nights at POP. Looking at this deal, I was thinking of going 6 nights POP and 7 nights RPR. With the difference in price and then factoring in paying for parking at Universal and then at Disney, I'd be saving about £80. The saving isn't the issue - I am still planning on doing some early morning stuff in Disney if I went to RPR for that length.....I also don't know if I want to leave Disney property??

What do you all think?

The AP is great value if you can get the 2 years for price of 1 deal, thats how we started but at $230 for 1 year its a bit expensive now. I think our 1st one was 2 years for $150. Now we renew each year at $110(went up from $100 last year)
For $100 there is the 2 park 7 day ticket http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/universal/
There is an offer on just now for a Season pass valid until 19th Dec supposed to be for Florida and Georgia residents but I read somewhere anyone can get them(it was a Florida only deal we originally bought)

Difficult for me to give advise as I have never stayed in a Uni hotel or Pop. I have stayed in AllStars Movies and I have seen the reviews of the Uni hotels. Personally I would never stay in a Disney Value resort again but I believe Pop is better than Movies, I would take any of the Uni hotels over Pop but if you want to stay at Disney then I would do like you suggest 6 Pop 7 RPR.

It depends what you like. We have never stayed onsite at Disney, would have done when the lads were younger but didn't have the cash then. We actually love the two Universal parks the best and have stayed onsite at Universal for the last 3 times and for us there is no where else we would want to stay.

The RPR is lovely with its island theme and has sandy white beach areas. The Hard Rock has a very upbeat rock n roll feel about it and a very party vibe about it in the summer (a lot quieter in December though). It feels cool to be staying at the Hard Rock.

When we go to Orlando we treat the whole area as one big theme park with several lands, so will visit all the Disney parks, Universal parks and Sea World at least twice during our fortnight.

The big attraction for us staying onsite is the locality of the hotels to the parks and obviously the FOTL which is priceless, especially when visiting during peak season. Some days we go out to Disney first thing, others we may get up slightly later and stroll to one of the Universal parks. It feels very relaxing to be able to just stroll along tropical planted pathways to the parks.

The beds are extremely comfortable, the best I have ever slept in. In fact I wish I could import one of them home they are so comfortable. The staff are always smiling and saying hello and asking after your day at both hotels.

I would recommend either of these hotels without hesitation. However, for a honeymoon I think the RPR would feel a touch more romantic rather than the cool factor of the Hard Rock. It also has a lovely lounge area called Orchid Lounge which is filled with, surprise, surprise, orchids where you can sit and enjoy a nice glass of wine if you wish. Both hotels just make you feel special and then you feel special with the FOTL passes too, when you bypass long peak season lines.

Thanks for the info - I've actually stayed at both...on thinking about it, I think we are going to stick with our original plan as we want to be based at Disney and make use of EMH - for us, hotels aren't a big part of it to be fair. No doubt though we'll get to RPR for our one night stay and then want to stay for 7!!! :rotfl:

This offer looks great, I too have free dining booked in sept, but I'm thinking about booking a week in the hard rock and a week in the loewis. This works out a good saving even without the dining. Anyone else thinking about this option? :confused3

Is it me or have they disapeared now:confused3 found lots of options last night between 22 aug - 5th sep but couldnt make my mind up but nothing coming up at all now :sad1:my own fault for being so indecisive !

Just checked the same week I originally started the thread with 2-9th Sept, none showing. Looks like they have removed the offer. Maybe check again each day for next few days make sure it does not come back.

Well I have just told them over at the Universal boards about this deal and someone thinks I must be royalty to get such a cheap rate!

I wasn't dreaming it was I? I did get a week at PBH for £378 didn't I?!? :scared:
