I am looking for a cheaper rate for April 8-10. The RPR is $334/night & HRH is $374 :scared1:

I found lastminute travel.com and it looks like they have Universal Hotels for $50-$80 less per night.

Since this is one of the "blind" hotel websites, does anyone know for sure if these are the actual Universal Resorts? I am almost positive HRH is coming up for $316.

Has anyone succesfully used this site to stay onsite?

Cant remember but I think it was hotels.com that had some deals.

I will see if I can find them again for you..

There is a section in the mouse savers or allears site that give information on how to determine if the hotel you are bidding on is the universal hotels.

I'll see if I can find it for you later today. Since the info from those sites can not be published on any other, I would have to pm the stuff to you.

I have not done any blind bidding as I use my AAA membership card and get up to 35% off the hotel costs.

If I was spending $250/night on a hotel, I sure would be taking any chances on not getting what I wanted. It sounds like what they are quoting is the annual pass rate or AAA rate. The APH rate for HRH for that time is $264. AAA rate is $374. Make sure you aren't booking something that has requirements at check-in. Might be worth while to purchase one annual pass. It would pay for itself over that weekend.

Karalea, sent you a pm with the info you need for the blind bidding.

Thanks for the replies.

Since posting I have done some research on lastminutetravel and they have horrible reviews. I'm not going to risk it and will book through the offical hotel website.

I know that I would be worrying my head off about it.

that was the site that was running the $1 booking the last 2 weeks and everyone on the Disney side was all upset. Several did some looking into with findings such as: calling and receiving foreign sounding operators who didn't have a clue, to no one answering at the main office, the deal never coming up (I personally stayed awake until 2 p.m. w/o seeing any deal, some people spent 26 hours online without leaving their computers to try to win), others said the rumour is they are going bankrupt, the list goes on...

I'm like Damo, I wouldn't want to pay that kind of money w/o knowing what you're getting. Call Loew's and see if you can get a better rate for your time period.:)

Hi,

I just sign up to the board and wanted to ask about the discount for AAA members. Did you call the hotel directly to book it or go in the website and enter the AAA code?

Is the AAA discount the best to be had at the resorts?

Thanks for your help.

Steven

i was surprised to find out that i know 2 people that got disney hotels for the $1 on that site.
and to top it off, they only spent 30 minutes on the computer when they secured it.

i never have that type of luck.......
but then, i never tried for that $1 hotel deal.
