Hi all! Just a plea here for anyone to please please post if you get a room at Universal at the Entertainment rate for summer 2003..... I called today and she said they were not loaded into the system yet. (12/22/02) Best they had was $167 at Royal Pacific, I need 2 rooms (4 kids), so I was looking to do even better. She said to try again after the new year, but I may call more often, at least it is toll free. Does anyone know when they generally come up? I am new at booking a Universal hotel stay.

thanks a lot everyone!

I booked months ago for July 2-5, 2003 at RP for $110 a night for each of my two rooms. I couldn't get HRH for the same time period with the entertainment rate so I took the RPH.

If you discover any good tips, I'd love to hear them. I'm expecting to need two rooms when we visit Universal for the first time next November with our four kids, too.

I tried getting entertainment rate last week for May 1-5 and HRH and it wasn't yet available. So I'm interested too when more people start getting the rate.

Hi I called and got reservations for The Hard Rock Hotel the week of 8-17-2003 Back in November.....Rate was $125.00 Per Night.Husband and i are excited as this is our first Universal Trip...The Only Thing i found on our reservation was that it had to be paid in full to be confirmed...You Could Not jUST put a deposit down......Hope this helps.....Liz

I called the hotel (PBH) directly and got an entertainment rate for June 8-14. I did not have to pay in full. It states on my confirmation letter that only the 1st night was charged and the remaining balance would be paid at the end of the stay. I called in November sometime.

What # do I call to get the Entertainment rate? I had 3 different numbers (Loews, the hotel itself or some 888 number I got off the Universal site) Thanks:D

I will call again, because now I am really confused! Some of you got entertainment rates for summer 2003?? Why was I told they were not in the system yet?? I will try the hotel direct as well..... Thanks for the tips.

How many nights are you trying to book? I called last week to book one night at RP. I was told I could only use the entertainment rate if I was booking 5 nights. I told her I had never heard this before, she said the policy was just changed. I've called 3 times since then, but I can't get the rate for July 9. The best rate I can get is $149 Fan Club.

PatMcDuck, are you going late summer? Maybe the E rates aren't out for that time. Sounds fishy. I booked a couple of months ago for June 29-July 5 at RP with the E rate. Keep calling and ask them why is it that a few of your friends were able to book the RP E rate for summer.

I am pretty upset! Entertainment rate is now for 5 nights or more only.......... I would not mind this policy for 2004, as they could sell the books with that info in place. But to change it months after the books are sold seems unfair....... I know this sounds cheap, but I wonder if I could book 5, and cancel 3 later, if they would re-adjust my rate. (yikes, that is pretty sleezey).

I was looking for 2 nights in late August. What is the fan club rate? The best I could get was $183, and I need 2 rooms per night.

I booked PBH in late Oct. for June 18-21 entertainment rate of $150 standard and was offered $110 for RP

fyi...

I just booked (for December 03!!!!)trying for a good rate at either PBH or HRH using whatever I could get with AAA, Fan Club, Entertainment, and Loews.

She told me the best was with Fan Club (no Ent available at either) at both. PBH was $181 standard and HRH was $146 standard so we went with PBH cause I don't like to spend more than $150 at Universal for a room.

I posted in another thread that we did get the Ent book rate of $125 at HRH for our August dates......... we asked for a supervisor, and whined a little (no yelling).

Okay, I'm new at staying onsite at Universal. What is this entertainment rate? Do we need some sort of membership or card? We are looking into a summer stay with our WDW trip. Thanks!!

I also got the Entertainment rate for the Portifino Bay July 2nd for 2 nights. Paid for the first night with the cc and will pay the 2nd night on arrival. Made the reservation a few months back.
