Universal HOrror NIghts question

I am going to Universal for only 2 days during my week long trip to Disney. One of my days is going to fall on Oct. 1st (a Friday). We do not want to do the Horror Nights. Here is my question...will I lose any hours in the park going on a HOrror Nights night? or does the park close to the public on regular hours and then stay open late for HOrror Nights?

Since HHN is staged at the Studios, they will close at 5pm to set up for HHN that night but IOA will stay open until 7pm. They might tweak the hours some depending on the crowds for Harry Potter but that won't be known until later in the year.
