Universal has announced next hotel

Maybe the movie came out in the 90s but I have teen boys who love it all the same. I can't say I love the movie or the attraction but some things are timeless. Every time they remove an "old" attraction to keep things fresh, they get a ton of complaints that a "classic" was taken away. I'm not saying IJ is a classic just saying that people all have different favorites at WDW. Reminds me of the rehab at the Poly. So many people think it's looked like early 70s and desperately needs updating. Just as many are sad that what they come to expect at the Poly (and all the nostalgia) will be gone forever. Sometimes you can't please everyone.
What year was Peter Pan first released? Yet it's rare to ever see that line less than 45 mins., even during off peak times.
I agree with you about the classic rides. Peter Pan really needs an update but I do enjoy the ride. They ruined the Poly in my opinion. I guess Magic Kingdom has most of the attractions. The Studio's really has not much as far as attractions. Indian Jones was an example. My kids are in their late twenties and have no real clue who Indiana Jones was. Forget my ten year old. My point is I want more for my money. It costs a lot to go there and I have high expectations. I was there the year it opened and every year since. Disney and I have a love hate relationship. All I ask is for more attractions.

Its funny. You see some threads where people are defending Disney actions because something new is needed and then other threads where people defend Disney because the classics are best. I guess that you truly can't satisfy everyone.

I like new but I like it to fit the theming of the area. So I guess that I like an area to be well-themed and for the rides and other attractions to build on that theme.

Also, Peter Pan should never be changed. There's just something sweet and timeless about that ride.

I know and agree I was just putting the rumor out there because it is being discussed. I think we are a long way from a third universal theme park but the waterpark is very likely. I only know one DVC member personally but of course have heard from a lot more on here, but my friend doesn't normally stay a week they own at BLT, and usually stay about 4-5 days. I also know a lot of DVC members on the boards are staying at their DVC but going to universal instead or at least going to universal for a couple days. The same could be done with a universal timeshare, people could only stay for a 4-5 day period, and or if they stay longer they could go to other destinations like Disney, or SeaWorld.

A UVC would be an interesting event. Agreed they are too small. There would have to be outside benefits..... Part (or most?) of WDW's pull is nostalgia. You can't build nostalgia. ( in 6 months).

The buy in would have to be low... with great percs (like DVC was in the beginning) Judging by how growth has been at UNI, it probably would be a good investment..... In 20 years, they could really have something.... maybe.

Just thinking...

There are additional benefits for staying at THE Disneyland Hotel, not just A Disneyland Hotel.

Found this ...
http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/hotels/disneyland-hotel.html

Disneyland Hotel (Paris)

Key reasons to stay in this hotel

Impeccable 5-star Disney quality and service
Perfect location, right at the entrance of Disneyland® Park
Magnificent Victorian decor of the great 1880s railroads era
V.I.P Hotel FASTPASS ® (suites and Castle Club only)
Extend the magic with up to 2 Extra Magic Hours in Disneyland® Park
Meet Disney Characters until November 12, 2014.
Free WiFi

Wonder if there is any significance to the fact that they have registered "V.I.P Hotel FASTPASS ®" and in other places on the site "V.I.P FASTPASS ®". On the other hand, I tend to doubt in means anything since all other Disney locations are vastly different than WDW. But it would get me thinking about it if they offered this type of pass for Club Level.
