Universal : Halloween Horror Nights

How is it? I DO NOT do haunted houses, but Im kinda curious if I would be ok to just walk around and not have a heart attack from fear. I've been to Six Flags Fright Fest, which I thought was pretty lame, but it seems like Universals Horror Nights have alot of people on the streets meant to scare you to death. Any thoughts / info is appreciated. Thanks!

There is a thread on the Universal Section of the DIS devoted specifically to HHN. My family and I have APs to US/IOA but have never been to HHN (I'm more of a MNSSHP girl myself). I have heard that the scare actors won't give chase if you don't run, but I'm too chicken to find out. Too scary for me.

Did it once, wouldn't do it again. Not into haunted houses either, and they have 'scare zones' everywhere where you have to walk through fog while masked people chase you (or teenage girls, more likely) around with fake axes, chainsaws, etc. I found it more annoying than anything. It was really crowded and everyone was getting very drunk.

Yeah, you will want to check the UO forum as there are several posts about HHN. Also, I would search youtube for HHN videos.


I've been to HHN the last 3 years and yes, it is possible to just walk around and not get too scared. There are a lot of scareactors walking around, but it's not nearly as bad as the haunted houses. There are so many people walking, you will be fine.

It's so much fun to watch the scareactors scare other people. We will find a place to sit and laugh so hard at them. Also, there are several shows to see, plus the rides are open. If you do go, the Bill & Ted show is a MUST see....it is hilarious and not scary at all. It spoofs all the celebrities/movies/music/tv shows that have been popular throughout the year.
