Hello,

Does anyone know when universal will release the dates for this years halloween horror nights? :scared1:

Also, roughly how much a ticket is too!! Its my birthday on halloween and Id love to spend the evening there :thumbsup2

Someone on the DLRP boards went last year and it sounded brilliant. I would love to go too. Unfortunately I have a DD who is afraid of her own shadow, so Universal's Halloween would traumatise her for life.;)

We went 2 years ago i think the tickets were released about september time, the price was about 30-40 pounds, was a good night they really know how to scare.

yeah ive been before...in 2002!! Was the best night of my life!!! Absolutely amazing!!

I have a DS who'll be 27 months when we go, but as we're going with my dad and his family (sharing a villa) my dad will babysit while my hubby and I go on my bday. Then we'll babysit their kids (14 & 11) while dad and his wife go the following night!!! Got it all planned out!!! lol

xx

I've been twice and can quite easily say it is teh reason me and a friend are going in oct for a week just for that.

They usually put the dates up well in advance by a few months. Often starting the last week in sept running to the first week in Nov.

prices range from about $45 for a thur and a sunday, where friday and saturday was about $70

Thur and sun run until midnight, but fri and sat runs until 2am

Tell you what, this is just a fantastic night!!

We went a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. We went on a Saturday night (and Tuesday twice) and we bought the Express pass for the Saturday. It doubles the price of the ticket but so worth it if you are going on a busy night. We got to see all the houses and the shows and the wait time for some of the houses was well over 90 minutes.

If you are only going for the one night I would recommend the pass to see everything. If you are going back for another night, especially a quieter one, then you shold be ok.

The park is totally different at night, and especially with loads of mad monsters running around. We dodged the men with chainsaws quite a few times but they still got us. We ended up running and squealing into Earthquake just to get away from them and then made out like we meant to go on the ride!

The houses are brilliant and the year we went they had some of my favourite films - Nightmare on Elm Street, The Thing, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I've never been so deliciously scared in my life!! They also had my phobia (clowns) ewww! Jacks Circus Show still sends shivers down my spine :-)

I wish we were going back for it this year...

Now I really want to go. I'll just have to toughen my kids up.:lmao:

We are hoping to go for the first time this year, we are staying onsite at PBH until 1st October so im hoping it will be on before we go home. Take it our FOTL hotel keys will work for this avent? :confused3

We went for the first time last year and absolutely loved it, even though my poor heart could only withstand four out of the eight 'Haunted Houses' :rotfl2: The 'Scare Zones' were the best part of it for me. Really imaginative & great fun without being too terrifying!!!!
The HHN website is usually updated gradually from about May, with details of the theme for this years event, followed be details of the actual houses and prices. We went on a Wednesday (22/10), a 'quieter' night, and as we had already purchased day tickets we upgraded to 'Stay & Scream' for that evening only & also added Express passes, about £70 for the both, per person. We were the allowed out of the holding area about 3/4 hour ahead of general opening & got into 2 houses with no wait at all. Within about an hour of general opening the queues were enough that we were having to use our Express passes.

OrlandoMagic....unfortunately your onsite 'front of line' privelidges do not extend to HHN as this is a seperately ticketed event. We were staying at the HRH at the time and could only use fotl up until abot 5pm??

We're all desperate to go again. It was undoubtedly the single best event we've ever been to in Florida :yay: :yay: :yay: If we go again this year I think we may go for two midweek evenings using 'Stay & Scream' & not bother with the Express pass.

Universal dont usually release the dates and start ticketing untill around June or July. Sadly im going to miss it this year as we going for xmas instead.

We went last year for the first time - and it was the best night of my life too!

It was absolutely brilliant, I cant wait to go back in 2010 :)

Check out the Universal section of these boards, you'll find loads of info there about HHN, and the guys over there - esp Metro West and Macraven, know absolutely everything about HHN and will be happy to answer any questions you have (I know, I bombarded them with millions of questions about this time last year!)

Usually the opening weekend is the last weekend in September on the Friday and Saturday - although I have heard rumors that this year it might start on the first weekend of Oct.

Stay and Scream is a great option, as Helen says. Having the park virtually to yourself for about 30 minutes is brilliant! This is really good as later on in the evening the lines can get up to 2 hours for the houses!

Re tickets - i think it was $70 for a full price ticket on peak nights, and stay and scream tickets were between $30 and $60 depending on what night you go on. Express passes were $70 on top of that too.

Have fun!!

Just remembered something. We bought the Saturday night ticket online, along with the express pass, and also the unlimited ticket for other nights.

I was a bit annoyed as when we got to US they were doing the unlimited ticket for much less than half the price we paid online. I asked if it was a special and they said no, they did that every year. I grumbled (very nicely) to Guest Services and they gave us vouchers to spend in the park which I thought was good of them.

I wasn't after anything, afterall it was my choice to buy the tickets, but I thought it was a bit unfair. GS said that if I had bought the Saturday night tickets at the same time as the unlimited ticket it would have come up with the same price they were doing them for in the park. It definitely didn't and I showed them the confirmation I printed online.

Next time I will wait and get them there.

I CAN'T WAIT to go back :goodvibes

As Beep said,we've found on our last few visits that we could have saved money by buying whilst there as opposed to pre-buying.These are great nights but we've seen the prices gradually get dearer & dearer over the years! At xi we paid $20 to "stay & scream",last year our passes were $70 for the first Saturday:scared1: (Only day we could go) From memory I'm sure they didn't release tickets until about 6-8 weeks before the first date & unlike WDW Universal haven't brought the dates forward so expect the first night to be the last weekend in Sept.If you can get a date for midweek choose this, express passes will also be cheaper but for weekends last year EP were the same price as the Ticket! Be prepared, get in before park closing, you get "released " from the holding area before the Official opening so you can get a 2 House head start, this is vital as you will struggle to get them all in.These nights are jammed full & it's not unusual to see queues in excess of 2 hours:scared1:

When we go we will have the 7 day unlimited tickets, can we just upgrade these for the night we go or do we need to book a full price ticket for the event?

Thanks!

Simon you can just upgrade on the day if you wish,we have also managed to upgrade a couple of days before by showing our flex pass but this would depend on Customer services allowing it -but no harm in asking. The busy nights are not dicounted as much as they used to be,I checked the difference for us last year & I seem to remember it being less than $10 (this was the weekend) whereas you can get some good deals if you can make it mid-week.
The only thing you do risk is them selling out the event but I wouldn't expect this until later in Oct.

This is looking like being one of the highlights of our next trip. We get free entry with our annual passes so will be taking Grandma up on her offer of babysitting for the night while we go and have the beejeezus scared out of us.

We also went in 2007, the year of Freddy, Jason and Leatherface and it was awesome!!

About 6 of us are looking to go this year when we're on our wedding trip, and based on previous years calendars and prices, I think Sunday 18th October would be the date we'll go, assuming this is an event night.
We were going to purchase the stay and scream and express passes in advance, but now, especially with the awful dollar rate, I'm wondering whether to just upgrade on the day.

But we can't afford to find out they've sold out. Do the Stay and Scream sell out as well as the Express passes? I know one night in 2007 they had sold out of Express passes when we were there, but we bought one for another night instead and came back with our Frequent Fear Pass. I was unaware of Stay and Scream then though, so this year we're going to do that, and do it all in one night instead.

We only arrive the day before incidentally, so we wouldn't have time to go an earlier day to get them. I do have a US dollar account though, so can I get a good deal online at all still? Although the other 4 wouldn't have this.....

Thanks for the advice SD! :thumbsup2

Just hope now that they do HHN at the end of September as we go back home 1st October.
