Can't see the tickets on sale yet but the dates are released we went in 1995 and 2001 so i am getting scared already

Unsure on whether to go or not. I feel that this may be too scary for our DD2 and DS 2 months. I don't have enough information yet though to make a decision. Need to do some serious researching!!

If your children are under 12 id say dont let them go- unless they are very brave. Ive seen some 30 year old women scream and run for their lives lol

Seriously though it is a very adult atmosphere with lots of drink on sale so there can be a lot of rowdy people- security are fairly hot though.

MNSSHP is for the kiddies.....Universal Haunted Nights definately aren't....we decided not to go because I was scared of the pictures (I'd just turned 18!)

yes, it is seriously scarey stuff - last time i had to just keep saying to myself "they are real people just dressed up" "they are real people just dressed up""they are real people just dressed up""they are real people just dressed up""they are real people just dressed up" - as walked around the haunted houses.... then was 2 scared to go to bed so we stayed up late and played air hockey in the hotel - AND I'M 36!

We are going but i dont think i will have the courage to go in the haunted houses, dont like thought of people jumping out on me in the dark!! Is that what happens in them?? Looking froward to parade, show & atmosphere though

They Fog up the streets make it really dark then have men chase you with chainsaws.

The area around spiderman last year had women dressed up with chains in a weard "Perovicative" way- almost pole dancing. Def not for youug children.

There was quite a discussion about this over on the Universal boards after last years HHN - many felt that too many people brought young children and because they'd paid their money didn't want to leave! By the sounds of things, there were many terrified little ones in strollers last year!

We haven't decided if we shall go or not yet (too big girls blouses! ) but we definately would not take DD who'll be 5!

On a side note, we went to Porta Ventura (Universal's park in Spain) last October and they had Haunted Houses and characters out during the day there. DD was 4 then and was not afraid of a mummy or a wolf complete with pigtails hanging from his mouth! but was terrified of an undertaker and Uncle Fester! We met some English ladies who warned us off of taking little ones to the Haunted Houses as one of their daughters was hysterical after being in one - she was 18! She almost started crying again as they told us about it, too!

We haven't been to IOA halloween we went when it was in Ustudios but i assume will be equally scarey - even if you dont go in the haunted houses you cant avoid the people scaring you in the streets, in Universal you had no option but to walk through an area of really thick fog (couldnt see your hand in front of you) and the area was full of nasty gouls etc - but to get to the other side of the park you had to walk through that fog!!!! Some people have mentioned the drinking but we didnt experience any drunks at all.

DONT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN UNDER 14 IS BEST ADVICE - its a lot of money to waste for just watching a parade and hiding in the shops.

The day operates like normal- apart from some props in the streets you would not rerally know that somwthing diffferent go's on at night!

We buy the US Frequent Fear Passes, and we have USO APs. (Live not far from USO.)
We go early, hang out a little and get to stay and get an early start to the haunted houses.
The effects are more chilling at night for certain. But it is great to be there early and by the time it gets crowded we have gone through half the haunted houses and are leaving.
So we go often. 4 - 6 times each year for HHN.
Last year we only went to MNSSHP once. And this year I think we are passing that altogether. Although MNSSHP is GREAT. But it doesn't change from year to year, as HHN does.
US excels in horror, make up and costumes. Much more of an adult theme. Not for the kiddies. We see some, but not many.
