Universal Gift Cards

I see Universal Gift cards that I can purchase at the grocery store and get fuel points, we do this all the time with WDW GC.
We buy a $50 - $100 cards during the year to save for spending at the parks, last time we had $500 worth for out trip to WDW.
Do the Universal GC work the sale way?
Were can you use the Universal GC, any where in the parks for food & shopping?
Can you use them at City Walk restaurants & shops or the hotels on property like Portifino & Hardrock?

I’ve bought the UO gc and used them at the hotel and parks with zero issues

Usually I charge back to my hotel room
when shopping in the park and clear the charges at the hotel with gift cards the next day
