Universal for 1 day w/o express pass? 12/4 or 12/7?

We are going to Disney for the week 12/3-10 and debating Universal for 1 day. We've never done U without an express pass, how is it? Will it be worth it?
We'd do a park to park if that matters. We are big HP fans! Just wonder how much we can do.

Those are very light times at Universal. Stay away from Saturday and Monday and you'll find it much less busy.

DH and I are planning on going to US/IOA on 12/7! From everything I've read, it should be a light crowd day. Also, neither of us rides the big roller coasters, so we're hoping that will help us fit in what we want since we only have the 1 day park to park. We're mostly going for WWoHP
