Anyone heard of a supplement you can pay at IoA or US to get Universal Express access to every ride once?

Was it just a trial or is it somehing that's still available?

Thanks,

Julie

They were certainly doing this in August. I think it was called Universal Express Plus (but could be wrong). You paid extra, can't remember how much, may have been $25, for tokens (in a book I think) which enabled you to go through the express lines for each ride, but only once. We never bought them, because it only made life slightly more convenient, for quite a few dollars! Just use Universal Express, it's free, but of course you can have only one pass at a time.

Hi

It was in operation when we were there earlier this month, but the park was so quiet you didn't need it or the normal Universal express. It is $25 as was said but I don't know if that's per person or per group! could work out costly.

at IOA and found them to be fantastic during busy July it took us less than half a day to ride all the big rides.

$15 per person when we went to IOA in October. It was a ticket, like a park ticket, not a booklet. However at Halloween Horror Nights it was a booklet.

We thought £10 per person was OK as we went on a Saturday and it was quite busy. We still used the ordinary express pass at the same time, but it meant we could do everything we wanted twice. The second time we went it was very quiet so didn't need the passes - didn't even need to use ordinary Express.

I think they are always available (according to some of the cast members on the USF/IOA discussion board), but might sell out early in the day if it's busy.

I'd say it depends totally on when you're in Florida. We've just returned and there were never any queues worth talking about at US/IOA..........longest wait was 10 minutes for Jaws ( we got stuck behind a party of about 50 !! ).

The Express Plus cost $10 each then, but goes up to $25 ( plus tax ) in peak season, and gives you front of line access ONCE to each ride.

As I've said it would really depend on when you're going........if you can afford it then it would probably be a real time saver during holiday periods.

Thanks everyone. Due to having to go in school holidays, we will be there at Easter - so we are expecting big crowds. On our previous visits our strategy has been to arrive as the parks open and do the most popular rides first, getting fastpasses as we go, doing the less popular rides at the busiest times, and then going back to the popular rides at the end of the day, as the crowds start to go down. We have the 5-day bonus pass - so I guess we'll see how our usual strategy works on the first day and then maybe invest in Express Plus if the crowds are too big.

When we went in August 2002 we didn't know about it (or it wasn't available) but we found the regular free express tickets for the most popular rides had all gone by 11am. The spiderman ride had a queue of 90 minutes on the stand by line that day. I'd definitely buy a pass if it's still available for our next trip.

How many of you are going?

If it is four of you and you don't mind all sharing one room for one night here is the best plan!!!

Book one nights stay at a Universal Resort Hotel (get a discount code to make it cheaper), arrive at your hotel with an overnite bag and check in at 08.00am (you won't get your room but they will give you your keys) your keys are Express Line Passes and allow unlimited front of line access in both parks.

That night go to CityWalk

The next day you can check out, go to the parks and have front of line access again all day.

Rack Rate for the Royal Pacific 10th April is $200, so you should be able to get it cheaper.

4 people for two days with Express Passes is $200

Worth thinking about.

If you have Annual Passes for Universal you can get a room even cheaper.

I hadn't thought of that at all. There are 3 of us - me, DH & DS aged 15. We have already bought 5-day bonus passes from the Universal website - would we still need those or does the key give you park access as well as front of line access?

Julie

ps where do you get the discount codes from?

You still need tickets I am afraid.

I really recommend staying one night at the Hard Rock Hotel it is amazing and if you have a spare few dollars and want the front of line it is well worth it!!:bounce:

When we went last year we stayed at ASSp at Disney, but packed an overnite bag went and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel for one night with my step daughter (15) two days express entry and went to see a band at Hard Rock Live!!!

Anyone know a discount code for a good rate at the HRH and the best place to book with?

Thanks,

Julie

Thanks - I have been checking out Mousesavers and see that our HRC All Access Pass may get us a discounted rate. I plan to give the hotel a call tomorrow and see what rate I can get.

Thanks for the tip!
