Universal Express/ other misc questions?

This is my first time planning a Universal Orlando trip. DBF and I are planning to stay off site in early March, and going to the parks for 2.5 days (half day on arrival day).

Since we're off site, we don't get express included, so is buying the express pass worth it? The price shows up to be around $70 for one day for the both of us.

Also, we (actually probably just I) want to go visit Disney Springs, so we're looking into getting a rental car. Getting them through Universal's vacation package booking site seemed pretty expensive. Do any of you DISers have recommendations for relatively cheap but reliable car rental companies/booking sites?

You probably don't need express in early March. You can always purchase it inside the parks if you change your mind.

Probably cheaper to use Uber than get a rental car to go to Disney Springs.
