Hi I'm curious how bad crowds will be the first weekend of christmas activities (dec 6-7). Those are the two days we plan on being there and I'm getting concerned. Thanks

If I had to guess based on Express pass prices and looking at the crowd calendar at Orlando Informer I'd say on the high side on moderate with Saturday being more busy than Sunday. I've been playing around with TouringPlans.com. You need to register but you can do personalized plan for free. They are still new Universal compared to how long they've been at Disney. To get Crowd projections, and to use their app in the parks They charge $4 -$5 with the coupon code.

We will be there December 4th-7th. Looks like the holiday decorations start on the 6th. Better to hit the parks on the Thursday and Friday (12/4-5)? Or at least do one day over the decorated weekend? Thanks

I've been to the park on that weekend the last few years, it's usually light to moderate. With the Grinchmas, Macy's and Mannheim concerts starting that weekend, I wouldn't miss it.

I normally go the first or second week of December (going Dec. 13-21 this year) and in year's past it has been light to moderate.

I went back in 2007 on your same dates and it wasn't busy at all. I did have the express pass and I don't remember what the regular line was like. But all the rides where walk ons so that was really awesome :thumbsup2

According the touringplans crowd calendar ... Dec 6 both parks show 3/10 and on Dec 7 both show 2/10

Those 2 days are are all over the map on the 3 sources I use. Like you said Touringplans currently lists them as 3 and 2 out of 10 (BTW today is the last day they show up on the free part of touring plans)

Universal Orlando is pricing their 2 park express passes (1 trip per ride) at $69.99 on Saturday and $55.99 on Sunday. At those prices I'd put crowds at a more moderate level 5-6 on Saturday and 3-4 on Sunday. Prices go from $39.99 to $119.99

Finally on Orlando Informer, the project Saturday to be busy and Sunday to be Moderate on a 4 point scale (slow, moderate, busy and very busy).

So, we've got everywhere from slow to busy being projected for Saturday. In general, I tend to trust Universal's Express Pass prices the most. They will change prices based sales on express passes and hotel bookings. And, they have the most to gain by getting it right.
