Where do I find a list of restaurants and the character dining they offer? This is our first time planning a trip to universal and this info. appears hidden compared to how easy it is to find and book at Disney. We're planning to stay on-site, probably Hard Rock, do any of the hotels have character dining? How do I book? THANKS!

It is rather difficult to find. You have to look under the individual hotel dining information sections on the universalorlando.com website. You'll also want to look under dining in Islands of Adventure theme park section of the website to find information about the Spiderman breakfast at Confisco's Grill.
Here's a page on Universal's website that outlines all the character dining opportunities.

I called this morning for character dining specifics. The following applies to Memorial Day Week which is when we're going.

At the Hotels it's Character Dinner Dining from 6-9pm.

At the Royal Pacific Resort on Wednesdays it's Scooby Doo and on Saturdays it's the Simpsons.

In the Kitchen at HRH on Saturdays it's the Simpsons.

In the Trattoria at the Portofino on Fridays it's Scooby Doo.

In the IOA there is a character breakfast at the Confisco on Thursdays and Sundays from park opening (9AM) to 10:30AM. Spiderman, Cat & The Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 are known to show up there.

She said there's a 30 day ADR you can make, not before.

I am so glad I found this post! I just called and made reservations to take my grandchildren to RP for Scooby dinner on Wed. Thanks! I know this will make their trip even more enjoyable.

I called this morning too. Not sure when you are going (sorry if I missed that), but we are going in August and they also have the HRH and Portofino dinners on Thursdays. I'm leaning toward Confisco because it would have something that appeals to both my kids. Also, we will be doing the luau at RPR and I'm not sure how many dinners we want to pre-book.

The ironic thing is that the kids' meal is $11.95 for the Confisco breakfast and only $9.95 for the kids' dinner at PBH (she didn't have the prices for the other meals). Adults I think was $17.95 for breakfast and $18.95 for dinner. Not much difference.

Have fun!

I wish Univseral would do the character meals everyday!!! That would make it alot easier!!

Sure, but I think it's not as much of a priority for them for whatever reason...maybe it doesn't draw as many people (though it could if they publicized it better!) I was told there tends to be "plenty of availability" at Confisco and that we can book ahead but it's not really crucial. I guess most of the restaurants where they have the character meals are pretty large? I've never been to any of them. But Disney manages to pack Crystal Palace 3x a day...:confused3

Anyway, DH agrees that the breakfast is a good bet so I'll call in July, I guess, for an August 26 booking.
