Universal: Butterbeer Ice Cream and Food Allergies?

We're visiting US for the first time just before Thanksgiving. DS is allergic to eggs, peanuts, and some tree nuts. I've done a bit of googling and found out that regular butterbeer is safe for his allergies. I can't find anything on the new butterbeer ice cream, though. Has anyone been recently enough to know about any allergens in butterbeer ice cream?

I would try emailing Bob Burdick at:

bob.burdick@universalorlando.com

He's the head chef there or in charge of special diet questions or something like that! He sent me some information about a variety of things last March, but that was before Butterbeer Ice Cream came out and DS is dairy allergic anyways.

I wouldn't be hopeful, however, because they offer another specialty ice cream in the Harry Potter section, Strawberry Peanut Butter. I would doubt there are made in different facilities or kept in different areas, so it may depend on your comfort level.

I agree with sending an e-mail, however don't expect good news. On top of the high potential for cross-contamination with ice creams containing nuts, many ice creams include eggs so there's a chance the butterbeer ice cream isn't safe even before cross-contamination.
