Universal at Christmas

Mrs. Homie, my sister and I will be at Universal on Wednesday, December 1st, 2010. We're planning on doing two parks-one day and hitting the major attractions (if all we do is Harry Potter and the Mummy I'll consider it a success).

Some questions:

1) I'm guessing that on a Wednesday during the winter off-season, crowds won't really be much of a consideration and I can probably hit all major attractions (and some minor ones). Does this sound about right?

2) Does Universal decorate for Christmas?

3) Does Universal put on any Christmas shows/concerts/anything else that I need to be on the lookout for?

1. I would think so, but with WWoHP opening up this year, can't really be too sure.

2. They do decorate for Christmas. I can't be 100% sure when, but my guess would be after Thanksgiving.

3. They have Grinchmas at IOA.

1) Historically crowds have been low during early December but with Harry Potter opening it's anyone's guess how the crowds are going to be.

2) Yes...the decorations in the park are usually up by mid-November.

3) At IOA...Grinchmas is staged and at the Studios the Macy's parade is going on...usually from 12/5 until 1/1.

We went this past year in December and really enjoyed the decorations - I'd say it was as decorated as the MK at Disney, but neither was "over the top" decorated. We loved the Macy parade - don't miss it! The best viewing spot is up by the (fake) Macy's store, near the Mummy.

They do a nice job decorating for the holiday's. As mentioned they do have the Grinchmas and we enjoy the Macy's parade. They also gear alot of the other shows toward a holiday theme...for instance the Blues Brothers.
