Is there not a place to link your resort stay?
Do you not need to go through the app to do online check in for your resort?
Do you have to have a physical pass for Express Pass? Does that show up in the app?
Do you upload your park tickets to the app?
I have older children, do they need the app on their phone so they can display their tickets? Do we even need to show them once we are in the parks?

Help! Thanks!

We did not use the app really at all except to check show times and ride wait times and did not have to do any type of online check in just showed up at Portofino. The express pass is on your room key. You have to go the Universal desk in the lobby to get the tickets. We had heard it was a good idea to have a lanyard with a clear card holder where the ticket bar code faces out on one side and the room key bar code faces out on the other as we used the express pass one a lot. I do not recall having to show our park ticket other than entry and to go on the Hogwart’s Express. We were glad we had the lanyard.

1. Is there not a place to link your resort stay? No, sadly.

2. Do you not need to go through the app to do online check in for your resort? No. You just do that through e-mail.

3. Do you have to have a physical pass for Express Pass? Yes, if it is from a premium hotel stay. It will be your room key.
If separately bought, I do not know whether it can be electronic.

4. Does that show up in the app? Not from a room stay. Maybe yes if separately bought?

5. Do you upload your park tickets to the app? You can, you don't have to.

6. I have older children, do they need the app on their phone so they can display their tickets? You can all use the same phone, you can do physical tickets, or they can each have it on their phone. Obviously if they are entering without you, they'll need a physical or electronic version themselves.

7. Do we even need to show them once we are in the parks? Only to ride Hogwarts Express, because that requires park-to-park access so they scan tickets.

Lanyards at Universal Orlando are fantastic, especially if your children may be going off and doing things on thier own. Be sure to get one that has a clear plastic card holder and have the ticket bar code face out on one side and the room key bar code face out on the other. If your children are older enough to be off exploring on thier own, they are hopefully responsible enough to handle a room key.

The last time I went, I used the app for checking ride times and menu items. Scanning Express Pass was a physical card (because we were staying at one of the hotels were Express Pass was included).

Thanks. We are also staying at Portofino Bay. I was just worried I was overlooking something. We will definitely use it for wait times. Thanks!

Thank you so much!

We are WDW veterans and remember the days of wearing lanyards. Now let's see if I can dig them out of the attic...

Thanks!
