Univ hotel 10/8 & 10/9

OK so lets say we need to find a place to stay our last 2 nights in FL.
DH wants to go to Universal/IOA while we are down there anyways.
Is it wayyyy too late to book a Univ hotel for Fri & Sat 10/8 & 10/9?
which? any discount codes? when do you think i should book by? cancellation fee?

everything is up in the air until MIL sees the damage to her Barefoot Bay home

I think its wayyyy too late. Maybe Portofino? Best discount would be for Annual Passholders.

I had trouble finding an AP rate for that weekend. Perhaps there are AAA discounts available still?

When I booked the nights of 10/8 and 10/9 back in July, I was able to get both nights, but at 2 different hotels: 10/8 at Royal Pacific, and 10/9 at Hard Rock. We are taking our 4 kids and 4 others(12 and 13-year-old friends of my son)to celebrate son's 12th birthday, so we booked 2 rooms for each night. We had originally planned to spend the first 5 nights at Disney, then finish up the trip at Universal, but I really hated the idea of changing hotels with such a large group. Also, we are spending the Disney nights at Old Key West, so going from a large 2-bedroom and a studio to 2 regular hotel rooms was going to be hard enough. So after checking the Loews website almost daily for 2 months, I was able to get 2 consecutive nights at Hard Rock, but I had to change my dates. We are now starting the trip at Universal, then moving to Old Key West for the last 5 nights. The more I think about it, the better I like the idea. The only thing I am giving up is a few hours at Universal(originally planned for the day we were moving from OKW to Royal Pacific), and I can live with that. I am also saving about $100, since only one night(10/8) was at a slight discount(AAA)before. Now both nights are discounted. Either way, DH is still suffering from sticker-shock...almost $1000 for 2 nights on property for our group, not including tickets!

I haven't been able to get the RPR or the HRH for that weekend, with an AP rate, FL resident rate or no discount at all. Keeps comming up sold out....

Yup, every weekend is sold out at US resorts in Oct. I have also been trying.

I went to Loewshotels.com and tried those dates (10/8 and 10/9) and came up with rooms with no problem? I'm not sure what we are doing different but you should check again. I think you may be surprised. (time now is 0737 EST)

I just checked again. Nothing. It says the criteria you selected is not available, check other dates.

Cheryl ... read your email... Lee County School District has revised the school year calandar, we no longer have off on 10/8. We are now off on 10/15 instead. I am glad I didn't book anything or get my HHN tickets yet!! Looks like my plans are moving to the following weekend.. 10/15 ... what about you???? Not that I can get anything onsite...but may try PL

OH! You are kidding??? That stinks, it's homecoming weekend. I can't go anywhere. When were they going to let us know that?
