I just had a terrible trip with United flying from Chicago. I would like to voice a complaint. Has anyone else had results from complaining to United Airlines customer service?
We were in Chicago for business and supposed to depart 3-28 at 4:33pm. Lots of delays due to weather. Understandable, United cannot control weather delays.
But 3 United flights departing ORD to PIT in the pm on 3-28
4:33 pm flight (my flight) delayed until 9:44pm, cancelled at 9:30pm. We were waiting on the plane to arrive from Cleveland, it did at 9:15pm, but flight was still cancelled.
6:50pm flight delayed until 9:10pm, departed
9:05pm flight - same aircraft as the 4:33pm flight - delayed until 9:20pm, departed.
I feel as though the weather delays were ok, but when the 4:33pm flight was waiting on an airplane (same aircraft as the 9:05pm flight), the people on the earlier flight should have been given priority.
Also, other airlines gave food and hotel vouchers to stranded customers. Not united. We (4 of us traveling for work), had to get a rental car AGAIN, drive to Midway, get 4 hotel rooms, and fly Southwest the next morning. Yes, we could have waited for United. They could have gotten us on the 4:33pm the next day, but we had to get back. Southwest got us out at 8:50am. Gotta love SW.
Any recommendations?
