I am just working on a packing list (yes, I am not going for 8 months) and since starting DVC there are some new items that are uniquely DVC.

Mine are:
Dishwasher detergent
Laundry detergent
Coffee filters
Coffee
Disposible coffee cups (for bringing with us on the way out the door in the morning)

What are yours?

You won't need dishwasher detergent. The housekeepers leave that in your villa for those one bedroom and larger villas.

But only one pack which is not enough (we run the DW daily) so we have to bring our own.

Just call Housekeeping and ask for more. They will provide it.

Like I said on an earlier thread, they don't care how clean you are, but they do care how clean the villa and they stuff they have in the villa are.

They don't always clean the tub in the master well. So bring at least one dishwasher tablet to stick in there and run it once. The other must pack for me is crock pot.

Microwave Bacon Cooker. That should be standard in all rooms. There is a cheese grater for goofy's sake and you can buy cheese already grated.

Two things

GardenGrocer and/or Wegoshop for the items on your list and a Owners Locker for stuff like bathing suits, sunscreen, multi-tool hats board games, quality adult beverages etc which you can ship down once and never need to haul back again esp since the airlines CHARGE for luggage

Southwest doesn't :)

We only go down once a year so owner's locker is just not worth it. (Enlighten me if you think I am wrong.)

(We also bring Tim Horton's coffee. Not available in FL)

Have been on DisBoards awhile and am a DVC member but haven't heard of an 'Owner's locker??' What is it?? Where is it?

Thanks!

Muffin pans!

My kids love muffins for breakfast and when they're as easy as "add 1/2 cup water or milk" why wouldn't I make them?!? But I have to remember to bring the MUFFIN PANS since Disney doesn't put them in the villas!

We keep 2 of the disposable ones in our gear, and use papers and just re-use them. But since they're disposable, it's not a big deal if I forget and leave them behind. :headache:

1/2 a 100 pack of glowy braclets/necklaces from Amazon. I think it is 9 or 11 $ for 1 hundred of them. Then we take them every night to the park, and the movie at the BC, and to the fire works and all over. My dd6, wears prob 10 on any given night and gives them out to other kids when they stare at them. Or when we are on the way out of the park and sees a kid coming in :)

Coffee, there is never enough. :( Zip lock bags.

Markers and paper so dinner with DD6 doesn't have to end in 6 minutes.

Bug spray

Owners Locker is a company that rents you a large "rubber maid" type container. They drop it off on you day of arrival and pick it up the day you leave. They have security ties that lock it until you break the seal. It's $100. A year. We have started going down a couple of times a year and think they are great. It holds a lot of items. I like that I don't have to pack my train case. Always have the essentials down there. Plus it has our coffee filters, brita pitcher, a change of under garments and bathing suits. Owners locker also has a place on your account to keep an inventory of everything in your locker. In times where so many air carriers are charging so much for luggage it's an option.

Purex laundry sheets (the ones that work as detergent and fabric softener)
Another vote for 1 gallon ziploc baggies
Sharpie pen

To the poster who recommended a dishwasher tab for the tub, what do you do? Do you just fill it, drop in and run the tub? I usually buy a small bottle of bleach and run a very diluted bleach mix through the jetted tub for 5 minutes, before we use it. I also buy a bleach-based spray cleaner for the shower stall since the stalls were not well-cleaned in both the BLT and AKV (old foamed soap on the walls and mildew +++ in the BLT grout). For that, you'll have to either order from a shopping service, or stop on your way in to the resort.

We bring a good cutting knife and cutting board, wine glasses- and wine ;), Large starbucks mugs, though I do like the idea of disposable, our old plastic beer steins (from food and wine) Halloween decorations for the room. Beer.
I have a bag that is specific disney items and I'm trying to think what else is in there... stain remover (for dh). French press. Sugar in the raw.

Don't forget the salt and pepper!
Zip-lock bags in gallon and quart size are so handy.
I take the Tide home if I don't use it and bring it back next trip in case I do need it. I also bring the bar of soap home. I like seeing the little Mickey head when I wash my hands.

I also take home the soap. We use it in our powder room. I have quite the collection.

A new item we've recently started taking is the sheets that are laundry detergent and dryer sheet combined, expensive but perfect DVC laundry item.

We drive so we take a lot of food and drinks. We take a case of bottled water, couple of different flavors of soda and beer. Food-wise we take sandwich meat, sandwich rounds which don't get stale as quickly as bread, mustard, mayo, poptarts, multiple types of snack cakes, pringles(they travel well!), pre-packaged pasta salad mix. Sandwiches and pasta salad are about as adventurous as we have gotten in meal preparation in the villas, except for our trip to Vero Beach where we did some major cooking!

If we stay in a studio I take my electric cooler to add to the fridge space. We become empty-nesters in the very near future :woohoo::scared1::woohoo: and we may do more studio stays. I'm think a small toaster oven my be a good investment.
