Hi there,

A few weeks ago, Disney provided me with a copy of some rare never before published photos of Disneyland Paris shows that were staged in the early nineties:

- Rock Shock
- C'est Magique
- The Lucky Nugget Revue

I have published them on my Blog, together with a detailed description of the shows. Check it out!

What was your favorite Disneyland Paris show? Let me know!

Take care,

Max

Great read as always Max.

My favourite show was without a doubt Tarzan: The Encounter, and I really miss it from the park, especially as the Chaparral Theater is unused whenever we go, unless it's Christmas.

Thank you Steve! That is very kind of you...

Do you think 'Tarzan: The Encounter' would return any time soon? Or the Lion King Show? Why did they close the last one? :confused3

When we were there 2 weeks ago we were in Videopolis to get away from the rain, and it was absolutely crammed full of people. Now we went in just as the rain started and there is no way that all those people were doing the same - they were there because it was a very big fast food establishment with TV screens to keep the kids occupied.

It struck me that DLP were probably making an absolute fortune, and without what must be the very high expense of putting on The Legend of the Lion King. That show was top notch, with cast members from both the West End and Broadway shows.

If you are in charge of cost cutting in DLP you probably figure that you can fill Videopolis on a continual basis by satisfying the visiting families most basic needs; to eat and keep the kids content, without the expense of The Legend of the Lion King show. Great for the balance sheet but not so great for us visiting guests.

Now I'm almost certain that the absence of The Legend of the Lion King is not enough to stop anyone visiting the resort and I'm sure nobody came just to see the show, but you keep taking away all these attractions and eventually people will deem the rising cost of visiting Disneyland Paris not worthwhile. The Legend of the Lion King, Tarzan: The Encounter, Streetmosphere in Walt Disney Studios, The Winnie the Pooh Show next to the Castle - bit by bit the magic seems to be disappearing, though I have read rumours that Mickey Mouse's house will making its way to the Le Théâtre du Château.

I'd dearly love for Tarzan: The Encounter to make a return, for me it's always been up there with Pirates of the Caribbean and Phantom Manor as the star attractions of the park, but I'd be equally pleased a new show of a similar quality. It'd be just be nice to make use of such a wonderful venue that is The Chaparral Theater at non Christmas times.

Blimey - I didn't intend to waffle on so much. Think I'll turn this into a blog post!

The second part is up now: http://designingdisney.blogspot.com/

Did anyone on here see Le Livre Magique de Mickey? Looks awesome, I'd love them to bring that back. Sorcerer Mickey is back for the Magical Moments Festival in 2011, so come on DLP, bring back the big book too!

Thank you Steve! This evening I have updated the first installment too with brand new rare photos! Have a look! :goodvibes

Maybe they can bring back the show for the 20th birthday!

Dear Dis Boards friends, what do you want to return at the occasion of the 20th?

My wish: :wizard:

- Space Mountain, De La Terre à La Lune.
- Some floats of the Main Street Electrical Parade (as a kind of pre parade of Fantillusion).

What do you think? Or do we start this discussion in another / new thread?

:thumbsup2

Thank you Max ~ my first visit was in 2005 making me a relative newcomer so I love looking at old photos of the park and reading about the old shows.

Really?? I love Sorcerer Mickey, I really hope he'll be in this costume when we go in May, it will really make my holiday. :cloud9:

Max, I've posted my thoughts here but please start a new thread if you prefer. :goodvibes

I'd love to see the Main Street Electrical Parade, I love listening to the music. I'd also like to see Fantasy in the Sky fireworks as I understand they were really good. And I'd love to see the return of Wishes, I think DLRP's version is far superior to WDW's.

And a show :worship: :worship: we were bowled over on our first visit by The Lion King and Tarzan. DLRP so needs a quality show.

Help, how do you make a new thread out of this one? :confused3
