Unique Dog Names....

We've got the unique girls' names thread, the unique boys' names thread, and now we have the unique dogs' names thread.....

We have two basset hounds. One is named Weezer and the other is named Dixie. I think that Weezer is pretty unique. We adopted Dixie from a shelter and she came with the name.

A friend's neighbor's dog is name Deeohgee (pronounced DEE-OH-GEE), which is exactly how you spell D-O-G....I always love that name!

Let's see our dog's name is Nikki. I know not so unique, but our neighbors have a german shepard named Brewski ( yes, just like beer).

We have a Welsh Corgi named Scout. We think the name fits.

We always joke that we when we get a dog we'll name it Jack, after DH's mom, because she told us to get a dog instead of having kids!

We had an american eskimo spitz whose name was Absolut (like the liquor) we called her Abby for short.

My DS has a friend whose Dad named their dog DamnIt. They have a day at church each year where you can bring your dog in to be blessed by the priest. The priest asked the dogs name when DS's friend got to the front of line and he couldn't help but laugh the whole time that he was blessing this dog.

We have been breeding show dogs (beagles) for more than 15 years... so have lots of unique names. Some of the more unusual ones have included:

Celeste
Emmy
Jalapeno
Piccalilli (aka Lilly)
Plunder
Sarsaparilla (aka Sassy)
Whimbrel

And my blue eyed, blue merle Cardigan Welsh Corgi is named "Indigo".

my friends jack russell is called "spanky", love it!, always makes me smile.

i think if i had dogs they would be elphaba and fiyero after the characters in "wicked"........THE most amazing musical ive ever seen.

I have a white west highland terrier called Jock! Not very unique although how about Xena - its quite unique

Currently a black German shepherd mix named Brady. Previous dogs included shep mix Evan, choc Lab Gabby and beagle Ringo.

I worked at a vet's office for several years and some of the more unique names were Bondo (owner had a parking lot resurfacing business), Twinkie was an orangish papillon, Comiskey and Sox lived together, a few dogs named Sosa (when Sammy was a Cubs star) Taco Billy the chihuahua, Fauna and Flora, Disco the insane rat terrier, Espresso and Anheuser.

It seemed that every third dog was Max, Sam or Bailey.

We are head over heels for our cocker- weiner dog mix from the shelter.
He is jet black with messy hair and his name is "Potter"
He has a white patch on his chest so he looks like he is wearing a tuxedo, and has a milk moustache.
We are currently looking for a rusty colored long haired dachsund- "Weasley"- so he can have a buddy to make mischeif with.
A woman I work with has a grandpuppy named Bronte, and her daughter is looking for a Whitman.

I have 2 dogs. One is a pure breed golden retriever named Nugget, like the Golden Nugget. The other is a mix shepherd - rottie - chow named Koda, from Brother Bear.

We have had three mini Eskimo Spitz females. Our first was Pushinka, which I think means fluffy in Russian. It means SOMETHING in Russian, if anyone knows you can let me know. It was a long time ago!!! Our second was named Pandora because, with one dog already we didn't know what we were getting into!! After Pandora we got Dallas, named after the city we where we bought her. We actually bought her at the Irving Mall in Texas, but thought Irving was not an appropriate name for such a cutie!!!
