unhappy times in wdw

You mean besides every time we have to leave?

Only one unhappy trip to WDW for us - I came down with bronchitis the second day, pushed through the parks with a high fever before I gave in and spent the rest of the trip in bed in my room

We were robbed.

We were staying offsite a few years ago, and had stopped for dinner.

When we finished and headed back out to the rental, it had been broken into and several things were taken including a digital camera, souviners, etc.

We tried not to let it ruin our vacation.

The first time we took a family trip to WDW, I was so excited. I wanted so bad for my DH and DD's to love the place as much as I did. Well, it didn't go so well. For some reason DH was grouchy with all of us. He wasn't thrilled in the least...to the point of tears for me. We later found out he has a reaction to many medications, especially herbal ones. He had been taking an herbal vitamin and as soon as he went off of it things changed. He is now a HUGE Disney fan and almost always has a Disney pic as his Wallpaper and screensaver(unless its Notre Dame football season).

The second bad time was the second to our last day last October. We were at the MK and I realized I had lost my little platic thingy from my lanyardthat carried our receipts, FP's,my Driver's License, and debit card(not to mention all our room keys except for DH's). It was never found, and we had to have our room keys with all the info on them replaced...that night. It was a pain, but things could have been worse.

Last month, my camera was either lost or stolen. Our card was not downloaded before we left and it had our wedding pictures, Christmas pictures and of course many of our pictures we'd taken already including my 40th birthday pictures and our DD4 meeting Cinderella for the first time.

By talking with Lost and Found numerous times, they feel it was stolen. They said 99% of lost cameras end up with them.

Lesson learned, download before you leave home.

We didn't let it ruin the trip but it still makes me sick thinking of the pictures lost....if you are a scrapbooker, you REALLY understand.

oh my yes...

4 day commando trip (combined with the 3 day cruise after) and EPCOT was our last park - we were SOOO tired...

DH was using up a lot of video tape at the Living Seas. (like 15-20 minutes of watching the dolphins or whatever it was in the huge tank). I told him that was enough of that one thing and he got really mad and stormed off. I didn't see where he went so I started looking for him. Couldn't find him anywhere. Finally gave up and sat on a bench under a flight of stairs. In tears. An hour later he came back in and yelled at me because he had been waiting OUTSIDE for me. sigh. pretty much ruined that day, but it didn't ruin the rest of the trip/cruise. (oh yeah - he left the camcorder on - on the seat - while we were eating lunch right after that - thrilling video. :sad2:)

sorry to hear about everyones bad experiences.........only bad time we have had was september 2004 when we lost a day due to a hurricane........that was one less day in mk :sad2:

I had a big argument with DH over I don't even remember what and was so ticked that I gave him his ticket to MVMCP and told him DS and I would go by ourselves. He left and I seethed while I got ready.

Then he came back to the room 15 minutes later with Mickey Santa hats for each of us for the party and said he was sorry (I don't know what the fight was about, but I am SURE it was his fault... :teeth: ). We all left for the party and had one of the most magical nights ever.

But before that it kinda sucked for a while there...

Other than that, leaving would be the most unhappy time.

Other than packing up to leave which is always rather sad, we got our mirror clipped off the passenger side while we were parked. Of course it's an electric one and it cost $400 to replace. We looked around the parking lot for cars with any sign of our color on them but couldn't find any. But someone has a big stripe on the side of their car. Let us hope their bill was even larger than the one they left me with by running away. And let us hope that by running away, they cost themselves a day in the world.

You see, that's a DH who knows it's better to be happy than to be right!

Last April, on the third day of an eight-day vacation to WDW my DD7 woke me up early in the morning with a very tiny "Mama? I think I'm going to be sick." Well, into the bathroom we went where she was indeed sick. She continued to be sick all day long, crying on and off because she was sick at Disney. This was an unhappy time at Disney as the thread asks, not only because she was sick but also because she and her 10 year old sister shared a bed and I figured there was a good chance that once she got over it, her sister would come down with it and I would be trapped in the hotel room with one or another sick and disappointed child for the rest of the week. I reassured her as she cried and helped her to the bathroom when she needed it while my DH brought her sister to the pool and to DTD.

Fortunately, the unhappiness didn't last very long. The next morning she woke up hungry for breakfast, always a good sign after a stomach bug. We went to MGM and she went on the RnR Rollercoaster five times, so her stomach had definitely recovered completely. Also, her sister never got whatever it was so we had a great rest of the week!

once i stepped on some gum...once i spit in the wind and it came back hit my shoe...once someone passed gas right in front of me, and it smelled bad...once i saw someone lose their top on summit plummet(oh wait, that wasnt bad)...once i burnt my mouth on the pizza at pizza planet...once they ran out of turkey legs right when i got to the window...once i got a warm beer at epcot, and they only gave me one new one for my trouble...once i accidently fell in the lagoon by the poly, where it says no swimming allowed... once i forgot the words to the song at jelly rolls and just had to hum the rest...once i got on the resort monorail when i meant to get on the express monorail...once i called mr. penguin, wheezy by mistake...the list is really endless...

Having to cut our 25th wedding anniversary short last Sept to get home and face hurricane Rita. We got there Sun and spent Mon and Tues worrying about whether to stay or go. It kinda put a damper on what time we did spend there. I still get bummed. The concierge staff at the Boardwalk was great about it though-arranged for our ME back to the airport and even changed our tickets to no expiration at no charge. We're really hoping to back there this next fall and do it all again-hopefully without the hurricane.

Ours was one of those 99 percent. A few years back I left our camera on an outside table in mk. A good amount of time had passed before I remembered it--but we went to guest services anyway and there it was. Of course, being a few years ago, it was a film camera. When we developed the film, we found a few pictures of cleaning crew cm's that they had taken of one another--we thought that was kind of funny.

I'm sorry this had to happen you--especially with your treasured photos that were taken from your wedding as well as other memories--I'm a scrapbooker also and would have been equally as devastated.

The only time I had a bad time at WDW was when I managed to get a stomach virus, and had to spend the rest of the day in my room. I was very upset about that.
However, that's the only bad time I had at Disney

knock on wood we have not had a bad time yet ... lol

but just reading !!!!!!!!!!!1

Last summer as I was waiting for the kids to finish playing in the Dino boneyard thing at AK. I was cleaning out my bag (yes, I was REALLY bored!) and realized that I had lost a $100 bill at some point during the day. :(

Figured out it must have fallen out of my bag at lunch. The rest of the group went to see a show and I had a good cry by myself. Once that was over, I was fine...I mean, yes it was a lot of $$$ but at least we were still at Disney! :thumbsup2

On our "once in a lifetime, never coming back again ever" trip in January '05 we only had 4 days. 4 days, 4 parks, super commando touring. DS was sick the day before we left, but he recovered in time for the flight so that wasn't a problem.

First day was perfect - pure Disney magic. Second day was perfect. Third day POURED rain. Was pouring when we woke up, poured the whole freaking day. Well, we HAD to go to a park, and the park of the day was AK. I can not STAND to be rained on. Anything other than rain, but not rain. I despise rain. But we HAD to go to AK. We were soaked before we even got to the bus stop at Pop, even though we were all wearing rain jackets. We got to AK and bought 3 umbrellas. We ate at Donald's and we plowed ahead with our touring. By 3 PM DH was tired and he was grouchy. His feet were sore. He wanted to go back to the hotel. But it was time for the PARADE! You can't leave when it is time for the PARADE! Oh, and at this point we were stuck in Rafiki land because we missed the train. DH and I were having this HUGE fight. DS looks over at this little girl with her mom, grandma, and a baby. She is eating a Mickey bar and she looks absolutely blissful. DS goes "I wish OUR family was happy!" :guilty:

So I said "FINE! Daddy can go back to the hotel, you can get a new family, and I WILL GO TO THE PARADE!" :furious:

I wonder why they didn't ask us to be the parade family? :rotfl2:
