Unfortunately, my family STILL thinks I'm crazy..a double PTR. *6/6-Beating the heat?

I Love Love Love that shirt idea!! Thanks for sharing.

I love love love that you are going twice this year. We are too!!! :cool1: We have our regular trip planned for November but DH just found out he has a conference to attend in June in Orlando. We just couldn't resist the opportunity to tag along and piggy back a family Disney trip to it.

I hear you about people thinking your crazy. It's kinda like the response that people give families that choose to have MANY MANY kids. The rolling of the eyes and the "here we go agin" comments, lol.

Enjoy your Magic!! :goodvibes

Hello from a fellow Disney nut whose family thinks she's crazy. :D

I don't have kids and I adore Disney. I totally get you about the reactions you got for your girls only trip, I get that a lot "Why would you go to Disney if you have no kids?" LOL

Love the plans so far. Two trips this year? I'm a little jealous so I'm going to live vicariously through your PTR for 2012!

:woohoo: for sqeezing in an extra Disney trip this year! When in June?

I always like to hear that there are others out there whose family considers them slightly crazy because of Disney Obsessive Disorder. Honest to goodness that's a true thing. One of these days I'll find a doctor who is familiar with it so they can diagnose me and my family will get off my case! ;)

We went to a little Mexican restaurant last night, in Weehawken, NJ. The reason? Because we could see the new Disney Fantasy from the windows!! She was christened last night and we felt the need to be close!!

We had a great night and I'm sure that the people in the restaurant thought we were nuts...But we left smiling, then headed down the hill to a little park right on the water to get a better look!!

If this is a sickness, I don't need a cure!!

I am so jealous that you got to see the Fantasy! Totally worth a trip out.

And perhaps, since it seems like we don't need (or, ahem, *want*) a cure for our DOD, we should just call my PTR a support group. ;)

Today is a big day in countdowns...

I'm doing the double digit dance for my June trip! (I have been since Saturday, but this weekend was DH's birthday so I was busy with that and didn't get on the DIS all weekend. Oh the horror.)

So, here we go: :woohoo:!

And incidentally, my April trip is just under 40 days away.

double :woohoo::woohoo:!

Almost time to break out my countdown calendar...which brings me to another reason I thought of that my family thinks I'm crazy. (I knew there was something else!) We like to do a countdown til our trip. I made this last countdown calendar before our last trip and plan on using it again no matter what they say:

I am still patiently awaiting my April Mickey mail. It should be arriving any day now. I am obessively stalking my mailbox and my mailcarrier for it. Unfortunately, my mailcarrier probably thinks I'm crazy now . Opps.

Oh and speaking of countdowns, my DD has thrown me into a countdown conudrum. She announced last week that she wants to be surprised for our upcoming trip.

This was me after she told me this: :faint: (which is amazing now that I think about it since she told me while we were in the car and I was driving).

Our conversation went something like this:

DD: 'Mommy, can you and Daddy surprise us when we go to Disney this year?'

Me: 'Oh...uummmm...wait. You already know that we're going this year.'

DD: 'Yes, but I don't know WHEN.'

Me: 'Oh. Well, when do you want to be surprised then?'

DD (said in an exasperated tone as if this was the most obvious answer in the world): 'When we get in the car to leave to go to the airport.'

Me: 'Oh'.

Yup, 'oh' was about all I could say. Had I known they would want to be surprised again I wouldn't have told them (our trip last year was a surprise). And don't get me wrong, I think a surprise as we were leaving to go to the airport would be a LOT of fun, but I also know it's a LOT of work to plan. Mainly getting the whole family packed without the kids knowing. :scared: And then I can't pull out my countdown calendar either

But I am getting excited about the prospect of doing a total surprise for them :hyper:. Last time we told them at Christmas and didn't go until May.

So this week's homework is: I'm calling on you, my dear readers, to share any SUPER SECRET packing tips or ideas that you may have.

Ready...GO!

First, yay for double digits!!!! :yay::yay:

Hmm...well could you still put the countdown calendar up in your closet or something where you could secretly enjoy it?? :rotfl:

That is cute that your DD wants to be surprised, though!! I've read about people sort of taking clothes from when they're put in the laundry and setting them aside in a hidden suitcase or container. Maybe if you do that bit by bit it wouldn't be too obvious?

Hoooraayyyy for double digits AND for under 40 days!!! :woohoo:

I love your countdown calendar (just like I loved it last year)

How cute that DD wants to be surprised. I hate keeping surprises though, I want to talk about the trip too much. I kept our trip a surprise until maybe a month before last year and I was so excited to finally tell DD so I could hang up the countdown calendar.

Oh, oh, oh! I LOVE the idea of setting a little bit of clothes aside each time I do laundry before the trip. They definitely won't notice since they are still young. Thank you, thank you! :thumbsup2

Hard to pull off at this point, but fun if it works!

That's what I was hoping she would say, that she wanted to be surprised a couple of weeks before so I could still use the countdown calendar. Guess I'll just have to stick with the countdown on my phone.

Love your new tickers

You know it's a good day when you come home to find this in the mail:

Notice anything about the number of tags I got? That's right, there's only 3.

And last time I checked there were 4 of us going.

Seems that L was left off the ME part of our reservation. She had no ME ticket or yellow tag. But her flights were there. And linked to my name. Ha. So after a 20 minute call to ME to straighten it out (all the flights were linked to all the wrong people!), all is finally right in the ME world and a new booklet is on its way. Is it funny that I'm excited that I will be getting more Mickey mail in the next week or so? ;)

Hopefully I'll still have time to put it all in the mail to each of the girls because we are officially at 30 days!! :woohoo:

On a personal and a not so Disney note, DS turned 5 this weekend and we had a party for him. I figured I'd leave you with a picture that I know you all will appreciate:

Happy 5th birthday to your DS!!!! :yay::yay:

Yay for ME info arriving...and more ME info to be arriving soon as well! Hopefully the 4th tag arrives soon!

Happy 5th birthday, DS!

Thanks ladies! The tags should arrive with plenty of time to spare. But you know I'll worry about it until they do get here. :rolleyes1

Happy 5th Bday to your DS, and hurray for the Mickey-mail!

Milestones are so much fun. Tomorrow, Joyce and I can see if we can adjust our October BLT reservations to a split-stay with either BWV or YC. Ideally, we'd do 4 nights at each, but we'll see!

All of your resort choices are great so I think you'll have a blast no matter where you stay. Especially after you have fun sampling all the tasty beverages at F&W. I am so jealous about that!

OK, since I'm taking 2 trips that are 2 months apart, I didn't want to have to purchase 2 photopass CDs. Here was my plan to only do 1 CD for both trips.

My first trip is April 11th-15th. I have 30 days to add the pictures to my account. If I wait almost the entire 30 days I would be adding them mid May. Then I have 30 days from adding them to my account until the expire which would be mid June.

My second trip is June 11th-18th. If I purchase a picture extension on my apirl trip in early June (before I leave for my June trip) then my pictures would be valid until sometime in early July which would give me time to upload and add my June trip pictures to my account.

Am I correct in the way that I have worked this out?? I know that purchasing a picture extension is cheaper than buying a 2nd CD.

Thoughts???

Sounds to me like it would work too. An extension is an extension, and you can add as many cards to a CD as you like! It's a good idea with two trips so close together.
