Unforseen locker question....

I had been debating with myself over whether to buy a cheap stroller for our DD4, in case she decided to get tired and needed to ride a bit. That decision seems to have been made for me when last night, just as we were approaching single digits, DD decided to break her arm at the elbow. :faint: We spent most of the night in the ER, and today I am among the walking dead, but I did have enough presence of mind to pick up a stroller at the store today. I figure she'll poop out for sure now, and carrying her isn't really an option with the big awkward cast on, so now we have a glorious pink-and-purple ride for her. But I need to know about lockers - where do I find one big enough for the stroller should we decide we don't need it for a block of time? How much do they cost?? Or would we be better off trying to push the thing around sans occupant and gamble that there will be ample stroller parking?? Last time, when she was not quite two, it was a non-issue because she was in the stroller more than she wasn't.....

Sorry for the ramble, I am running on very little sleep and LOTS of Diet Pepsi.......:crazy2: TY if you got this far....

I am sorry, I do not have any help with this situation but I hope you get some sleep. We went through similar situation but thankfully we weren't going to DL. Have a great trip.... poor thing.

Sorry to hear about that. There are jumbo sized lockers outside of the park and bag-check. As you are heading towards Downtown Disney, make the right to go into the picnic area. You will see all of the lockers there. I've rented the x-large for a tripod but the jumbo were ginormous. If I recall they will run you somewhere around $15 or so per day.

So sorry to hear about your little ones accident. As for lockers, as NostalgicDad said there are lockers on the DL side of the Esplanade, but there are more on the DCA side as well. There are lockers just inside the gates of DCA. And lockers are also located inside DL on Main Street about half way down on your right side as you go toward the castle.:tink:

The lockers inside the gates at both parks as well as the ones on the esplanade aren't large enough for a stroller. Only the ones in the picnic area. :)

OH how terrible for your daughter!!! The poor thing..... sorry for you as well mom! We use the locker outside the gates all the time, but never for a stroller. I would use the stroller when empty for backpacks, bags, sweatshirts, whatever you're carrying. There is usually plenty of stroller parking & the CM's keep those area's tidy....so sometimes you have to go looking for your stroller, but it's all good! Our 2 yr old got tired of the stroller at times & we loaded it up with everything else. Worked fine & never got a second glance from anyone.
I hope you still have the best trip ever! I'll be looking for the pretty cast in the crowds!
Get some rest, it will all work out fine!

Many (((HUGS))) to you and your daughter. It sounds like everyone answered the locker question, now I'll help with the broken arm. My son broke his just above the elbow 6 months ago (why do boys have to jump off the top of the playground equipment???) when he was 6 years old. Within a couple days he was feeling 95%(other than the black/orange, it was October, cast covering his arm shoulder to fingers) and within a week he was trying to play soccer. So your daughter should be feeling well by the time you leave. If she is like my son, she will have discarded the sling, but I advise bringing it with you. Her shoulder will get sore carrying the weight around all day. Also the metallic Sharpies work really well for signing dark casts!

Have a great trip! I hope your DD feels better soon!

I would suggest keeping the stroller with you, that way when she's ready to konk out you don't have to run back to get it. Our youngest is getting to where she doesn't ride in her stroller the whole time, but does still need it because she gets tired. If she's not in need of it we park in front of one ride and then leave it there while we are in that "land" when we are ready to go to anthother land we grab it and take it with us, then find another place to park it in the next land.

What's the rate on the smaller lockers inside the park?

I think they start around $7?

OP I'd just keep it with you. Having to backtrack to wherever you left will not be fun. I'm sure there will be someplace to stash it while you're in a Land. :)

HOpe she heals quickly!

It'll be ok. One year we went I sprained my ankle right before the trip and daughter was having problms with her asthma but we went and outdid the boys anyway. It will probably make her remember the trip better.

Back from DLR and there is always ample stroller parking. Try the stroller rental people and see if they will hold the stroller for you. I suggest taking the stroller with you as it is a 20 minute train ride or a half mile hike to get the stroller which means more walking. Dump your purse and bags in the stroller and use it to help you take some weight off the trip.

I was there at DCA parked pack, aka cheerleader nightmare. Plenty of stroller parking.
