What are the places you visit or things you do in either Disneyland or California Adventure that create special magic pixiedust: when you are visiting? I'm interested in places that not everyone knows about, or things to do that aren't well-publicized...

I've visited several times, and am hoping to see the parks through **NEW** eyes.

I don't know if this counts or not, the last time we were at DCA we were resting by the pilot restaurant on the outside tables and we saw 3 ferral cats. It was magic for us because for years we had been told about them and hadn't spotted them.

We also always stop and make a wish in Cinderella's wishing well.

And lastly, by the fantasyland theater there is a deck kinda outcropping into the water, we stop and have a snack there and watch the swans and ducks.

The last time we went, I had heard that if you ask the CM at the front of the rides they will tell you where to find the hidden Mickey's after many trips of trying to find them on my own without success, we enjoyed being able to finally spot them, and even after being told there were still many that evaded our glance.

Have fun-

The Disney Gallery in NOS is a jewel that we got to explore on our last visit. There is a wonderful little courtyard up there to have a quiet rest or a snack. Sometimes they open up the doors to the balcony where they have the special F! seating. We sat up there and watched the Pirate show from above.

I also think the Animation Studio in DCA is a magical place. I can sit in there for a long time just resting and enjoying my surroundings. The Opera House that holds the 50 Magical Years memorabilia is full of magical memories.

Also, the Courtyard of Angels in NOS is really pretty for picture-taking.

If you are one of the first onto the Mark Twain, ask to ride with the Captain. Sometimes you are allowed to steer the boat, and sometimes just ring the bells and blow the whistles. You are at the very top of the ship.

During the Year of A Million Dreams, they have suspended this privilege because it is being awarded as a dream prize.

However, I do believe you can still ask to sit in the nose cone of the monorail.

they must have JUST suspended it. We just did that in November. He gave us a tour, let my DDs pilot the boat, ring the bell and blow the whistle. We were the last off the boat and got to walk past Mickey, Pluto & Goofy as they were coming on. 'Twas magical!
