Unemployment Question

My husband just got approved for unemployment last Thursday. I went to check to see if there was payment available today and now it is saying that he is not active! Why did this happen? We were really counting on this to help us for the short term and now we are having to sit on hold for hours on end to get an answer.

My Medicaid is a whole nother issue...

Our state also has a one week waiting period after filing.

In addition, once the claim has been approved, you have to call to file bi-weekly to receive payment. In other words, if you didn't work and failed to file your bi-weekly claim, you aren't getting paid for those weeks.

Your DH should contact the unemployment office.

My state also has the one week waiting period. But, because I was laid off from an educational institution, I have to wait 4-6 weeks for them to review my situation to ensure that I am not trying to collect while just on a school break. Sigh.
