Underwater Camera Rental?

There are some shops that do this. It's about $70 per day to rent a basic camera, i.e. without strobes, etc.

I wouldn't really recommend it. It takes some time working with your camera to get the settings right and learn to change them for different conditions. Most people don't want to spend their precious underwater time messing around with the camera settings.

LeisurePro.com has a few underwater point and shoot cameras and disposable cameras that work pretty well. There is one disposable which is rated to 45 feet that you can reload and reuse use several times, if you open it carefully.

The cheapie ones aren't meant for very deep water. I was just looking for something simple...I guess on a deaper dive they wouldn't be much good without a flash. I don't trust those casings with my digital, though!

Thanks,

Scott

We are renting one from our local dive shop where we live. We are renting it for the entire week for $50. You might call some of your local stores.

Yep. The deeper you go the more lights and filters you need. I have an Olympus 5050 with a case that's pretty easy to use, but I'm usually stuck hauling DH's accessories around and don't get to use it much.

You might look into getting a case. They are getting better and better. You just need to take a lot of care that the seals are lubed and placed correctly AND never open the case between dives. We've never had one flood, but we have the PADI equipment insurance just in case.
