Is this business legitimate? I tried to purchase the Universal tickets from them. They asked me to email them a copy of my driver license. No vendors have asked me for any documents. They said that they need to verify my address? They don't accept a copy of my driver license if I blacked out other information beside the driver license number. Having the information about my weight, height, DOB, signature really necessary?

No I don't know and I understand that you maybe uncomfortable. I have used them in the last and not had a problem. Sorry I can't further alleviate your concerns

I've used them for many years. Very reputable company. They ask for further identification for verication purposes when you use your CC.

They request verification when the address on your credit card doesn't match the location of your computer when you buy the tickets on the website. It's just like when a cashier asks for your drivers license.
What do you mean by not matching the location of the computer? I used my own computer not the public one. I don't understand.

I've used them multiple times as well. Last time they asked for a copy of my Driver's license. I faxed it to them and had no trouble. Highly recommend.

I spent $2100 in June and they did not ask for ID. Everything came as ordered and I would use them again.

I just bought Universal tickets from them a few days ago and have bought several WDW tickets from them over the past few years. Never had an issue. Maybe e-mail them to ask why they want your driver's license?

They can track the path of servers that your connection hops through to get to their website. If your credit card billing address is in Mississippi but it looks like your computer is in New York, then then want more proof. They may also flag the transaction if you want the tickets shipped to a different location.

Right. Sometimes your IP address isn't located where you are physically. It's something that you can't control. It may be because of your ISP and the way your service is being routed at that moment. Something in your transaction set off a flag in their system.
They do this to protect you and them from fraud. They want to be 100% sure that you are the one making the purchase, not someone pretending to be you. They have tried various methods to verify users, some a bit more odd than this (for a while they tried some strange seflie thing).
You can call them if you wish during regular business hours and talk to them
Or as PP said, don't use them. There are other ticket sellers that you can use. They may not flag your order

Bought tickets yesterday, for the first time they asked for a proof of my adress (last time is a few years ago)...sent them a Picture of my ID and an invoice and got the tickets a few minutes later! :-)

Can you imagine Amazon.com asking you to send them a copy of your driver's license?
Ebay.com?
Walmart.com?

I've used UT, too.
But, no driver's license was involved.

The thing about these companies is that they are so big, they can afford to absorb the losses from credit card fraud...and they probably have their own security that can investigate and track down the thieves. UT is a (relatively) small business that sells high-dollar, high-value products. They really can't afford to absorb the losses. My guess is that they have seen an uptick in CC fraud?
Then again, couldn't they just deactivate the tickets? Maybe it's not that simple... :confused3
