Undercover tourist vs parksavers - any reason to pick one?

We decided fairly last minute to buy tickets for our upcoming trip in August instead of just going twice and using out old NE tickets we have saved up. So the tickets we want are the same price on UCT and Parksavers. I have used both in the past. Is there a reason to choose one over the other? Will one get me the numbers to put them in MDE earlier, or any other reason that would be preferable? Or anywhere else that is reputable and cheaper? We are looking at the 5 day MYW tickets, no hopping. Thanks!

I've used them both also. No difference as far as I'm concerned. I think they both take about the same amount of time to get you your ticket numbers too. Heck, spread the love. Buy some from each.

I'm learning so much on this forum! I hadn't even thought about online ticket sellers, but I see I can save $76.56 on 6-day park hoppers for our upcoming trip. That will almost pay for half of our Memory Maker!

Just give yourself enough time to get the ticket numbers to link to MDE. Takes a couple days usually so don't wait till you get too close to your 60 days to order

Thanks - I thought of that - I'm at 60 days today but our first night is MNSSHP. And I'm waiting on a new credit card that should be here any day that's giving me $150 back on my first $500 purchase! Should be here in a couple days. If I choose e-tickets, do I get numbers right away to them to MDE?

Not really. Still takes between 24 and 48 hours to get them. Unless something has changed very recently in their delivery of the info. You can check the FAQ pages on both sites to see what they say, or call them and ask what their delivery time table is currently.

My DH and are wondering how using an outside company for tickets works. We have APs so it won't affect us directly but we are moving close to WDW and have family on a tight budget that will be able to take their kids to WDW since they can stay with is for free. Do these companies have a special agreement with Disney to sell tickets? I thought I read somewhere that they actually buy used tickets that still have available days on them but I thought you couldn't transfer a ticket to another person after it has first been used. We would appreciate any information!

Yes to the bold. They have a contract with Disney and buy tickets wholesale.

Thanks for the input. I have used both in the past, but with UCT it was a while ago and I always had the tickets mailed to me. With parksavers that wasn't an option. UCT doesn't say anything in their info that I could see about a timeframe on getting the numbers to put in MDE, maybe I'll call and ask. I always used to want the physical tickets, but now with the tickets that expire it doesn't really matter except for having the memento.

Just to let everyone know, I called UnderCoverTourist and the lady told me that I would get the email confirmation with the numbers to put into MDE within 24 hrs. She then said it usually comes sooner, in like 1-4 hours, but they have to say 24 because it could take that long. If that is correct, it's quite a bit sooner than I had to wait when I used ParkSavers a couple of years ago. That was 24-48 hrs. I know not a huge difference, but if someone procrastinated on tickets and then had their FP window opening soon, it could make the difference. I'll probably use them so I'll find out.

I have used both and had good luck with both. I use UCT if I want to get the physical tickets. Which is fun if you are giving them as a gift or if someone wants to keep it for a souvenir.

Have a great trip!

I agree, I always like the physical tickets. I've just gotten lazy now that you don't actually HAVE to get them, and since they expire after the trip there is less reason to need them, just to want them for a souvenir. I did ask UCT, and she said that if i choose etickets I could still go to GR and get the actual tickets, it's just that I don't have to since I am onsite and can link them to my magic band. I thought it was the same with Parksavers, that I could have still gone and gotten the tickets, it's just that I never actually got around to doing it during the vacation...

In regards to the bolded item, if you ever see someone/someplace selling a ticket that is a used ticket that has remaining days on it, run very fast the other direction!!! Do not buy these types of tickets!!! Once someone has used a ticket, it cannot be used by a different person.

Both UTC and Parksavers buy tickets directly from Disney. They are not partially used tickets.

Yes, this is correct. You can always go to GR or Ticket office and get a plastic ticket if you have just an e-ticket, no matter where you get the ticket from.

I purchased from UC yesterday and had the email within 10 minutes another few minutes I had them linked to my account
Last time I ordered they were mailed I will do eticket from now on :)

I have used both UCT and PS, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either one.

Just ordered my 6 day park hoppers from UT and got my tickets emailed immediately and added to MDX in about 30 seconds! **Happy dance**
