We are planning a trip for 10 days in April 2009. I was thinking about buying tickets now from Undercover Tourist before there are any increases in price. If we do this, we can use these tickets next year without buying the no expiration option, correct? Also, we plan on staying on property. Will these tickets allow us to use the fast pass machines?

Yes! I purchased 6-Day MYW tickets from UCT in August 2006 for our trip in January 2008. They send them wrapped in plastic so that you can see them and make sure they are correct. As long as you do not open the plastic, you can return them for a refund (I think there is a small re-stocking fee) if you decide not to go. They work fine in the FP machines, but we did have a problem on EE with one of the tickets. No big deal, though. There was a CM there who just ran her card through or something and it spit out the FP right away.

We also decided to add a day to our vacation after we bought the tickets. We just took them to the ticket booth at the TTC and added a day. It cost $5.12 to add a day to 2 adult and 1 child tickets!:lmao:

I'm planning on buying our tix from UCT for our upcoming trip in Oct, but since DH is almost ready to buy into DVC, I have to figure out if we're going next year. I don't want to pass up the AP's again! When we went in January, the October trip was not certain so I didn't get the AP's then. :headache:

We bought tickets from UCT in the spring when we went to Disney. There were no problems getting FPs with them. As far as the expiration, I think they calculate that based on the first day you use them, but I am not positive. You should email UCT and ask them about that.:yay:

If you purchase the "no expiration" option then it is good for future use.

Your park ticket that gives you park entry will give you access to fast passes.

Make a photocopy of the front & back incase it gets lost so it can be reissued. Also, you may want to write your names on it with a sharpie so you know who's and who's and also incase you leave them in a fast pass machine it will make it easier to know which is yours.;)

Not entirely true...

The "No Expiration" option means that once you use the ticket, the unused days are good forever. If you do not get the "No Expiration" option, the days expire 14 days from when you first use the ticket. You can buy a 10-day ticket now, without the "No Expiration" option and the ticket will still be good 3 years from now, as long as you haven't used it. I bought 6-day passes in 2006 for a trip in 2008, without the "No Expiration" option and they were completely valid.

ahh.. thank you...
I did not get that the poster was just going to buy them now for use in the future without using them now ..when I saw their ticker I thought it said they were going in 2 months plus again in 2009;) thanks for clarifying::yes::

O.P. I see that you are planning on staying on property. If Disney comes out with a package for your time period and you wanted it you would probably have to buy a 1 day ticket to get the deal. Unless you are doing a "room only"

:confused3 If I intend to stay on-site and take advantage of DDP, can I purchase my tickets through UCT? Or do I have to purchase them with my room so I can get the DDP?

In order to participate in the DDP, you have 2 options:
1) purchase it as a PACKAGE through Disney which must include AT LEAST a 1-Day ticket

2) Stay on DVC points (yours or rented) and then you can purchase the DDP WITHOUT having to buy any passes from Disney (*This is what we did and are doing again...rented DVC reservation, purchased tix from UCT and DDP was purchased separately)

I *think* there was talk of allowing AP holders to buy the DDP without a package, but I cannot confirm that.

If you run the numbers, there is no savings by purchasing the discounted passes and then adding a 1-day pass to get the dining plan. If you want the DDP, just buy the package...if you're not interested in using DVC points.

HTH!:cool2:
