We are trying to plan a last minute Disney trip....like leaving in 13 days! I'm wondering if this is going to be possible. We would prefer something with at least a partial kitchen, as we plan to save money by cooking our own meals. Is it possible to find something nice for under $99 per night?

You may be able to pick up a last minute deal on a condo or townhome - try a site like www.lastminutevillas.net where you can send out a general enquiry to all homeowners who have your dates available. Other sites like www.homeaway.com may be worth looking at too.

If you are going for less than 7 nights you will generally have an end of stay cleaning fee to pay too so make sure that is included in the quotes you get. If you are only planning on a short vacation you may just fill a gap in an owners calender so they may be able to offer a good rate.

Just start researching - you just never know what you may find.

We recently stayed at the Hawthorne Suites on Palm Parkway. It was fantastic. It's a long shot but on the way to Orlando, I picked up one of those discount travel coupon books and our hotel was in there for $89 a night. It was only a walk in rate, but it had a full kitchen (minus an oven) and a full free breakfast. You can also go to the magicard website and reserve thru there and see what the rate is going for.

I just booked a condo through VRBO.com for the end of January and got it for $85 per night plus taxes. Still under $100 per night total. That was a 3 BR, 2 Bath condo in Windsor Hills. I saw lots of 2 BR's on there for even less.

surprised no one has suggested skyauction.com ( for certificate ) and www.getawayweeks.com ( for week in RCI timeshare in orlando )

what are your dates?

right now getawayweeks is showing 3 pages of resorts, ( some with 2 bedrooms ; all sorts of kitchen types ) early january "onwards"

but check back here to get advice on which timeshares are better than others

did i mention the cost of a certificate on skyauction would be 179 + 20 = 199$ total for a week ( buy it now no auction invovled )

do a search on skyauction using

holiday

then look for

Lawgs,

I have never heard of skyauction. Is it timeshare property? Do we have to sit through a sales pitch or go on a tour? How do you know where you'll be staying? We're looking at January 20th-27th of NEXT MONTH.

they are not a timeshare company but rather have a deal with RCI which is a major exchange company to help "take care of excess inventory"

with your dates, there is not much inventory there on getawayweeks right now for orlando, they only show one resort now for YOUR exact dates Celebrity Reosts _ Oaks 1 bedroom full kitchen

what i was quoting above would be in the next "13 days". if you had been going during the first two weeks, there was a lot of inventory with some of it being " good resorts"...you know where you will be staying since you make the choice .....once you have a certificate and you check the inventory on getaway weeks....if they have something you want, you just call and they "book" you into it....

there is NO requirement to do a TOUR when you use a certificate, although most places "TRY" to get you to do one for "tickets and/or cash"

just thought it might be an option for you, since it is GOOD value for $$$ spent...eg 200 for a week amounts to less than 30$ a night

check disney vacarion rentals on ebay many people offer last minute weeks at low prices. But make sure you are buying from someone who has good recent feedback and also check to make sure it is not a timeshare proposal rental. Just read all the fine print.
