How do you prove your child's age when buying a ticket? My daughter is almost three and we are traveling w/another who just turned three. Do they ask for proof of age???

They don't ask for proof of age for kids. They'll take your word for it.
Have fun!

It depends. I saw someone questioned at DL in California and then actually forced to buy a ticket (I wrote about this in a previous post) when the kid told the CM she was 3 and mom claimed the kid was 2. I also heard of someone who was questioned by the airline and given a real hassle. If it's close, I'd bring a copy just in case. You never know.

We had a HUGE hassle with the airline. I never thought in a million years to bring his birth certificate (because I asked the NIGHT before when buying the tickets, emergency trip). So I would suggest taking the birth certificate just to have, especially since yours is not 3 yet. The airline actually told us to go home and get his certificate, we live over an hour from the airport and it was in the middle of an ice storm in Atlanta (no salt, no nothing). It was the worst experience in my life! It didn't help that my father was dying and we needed to get to Ohio FAST!

Bring it at least for the one who isn't 3 yet. Pay the admission for the 3 year old and tell them that your DD isn't 3 yet and if they give you crud, whip out a copy of the birth cert.

They do indeed ask if they have any questions. We were asked and friends of ours were asked. Prepare for it. It is not all the time but if the kid looks close, and they are pretty good about figuring it out, they will ask.

Just bring a copy of the birth certificate, for heavens sake you are saving a lot of money I don't understand all the resistance. I wish they asked everyone getting in free -too many try to lie to save the money. Heck I'd bring mine if they let me in free.
