Hello to all,
So, we ended up booking a last minute trip to celebrate our DD 's 18th Birthday !.
She did not have a graduation party with her friends and now, she is just watching most of them go off to college. She decided to stay home this semester and take the online classes since she took some dual classes from that college already. Any way, after watching some videos on how safe Disney looks, we decided to the trip. We are driving this time.
We booked 2 nights at CC , our DS who will also be taking his college classes on line, wants to stay there since its the only resort we never experienced and love the new grill/bar there, plus we can take the boat to MK if we decide to go for an hour or 2. We will then stay 3 nights at Riviera, in a standard studio, since we don't feel that want to spend the extra points for a special view since there's no fireworks yet. Finally. out dilemma, we have 3 nights in a one bedroom at the BWV standard views, but I would like to change it to BW view. The question is if its worth the extra points it at this time.
Please let me know your opinions about it.
TIA

I’d say yes if you plan to hang out at the resort. There is nothing like Just soaking in the lake view...even without anything happening down below.

BWV is great IMO

As for RIV the standard view actually is the one with views of fireworks from what I understand havent looked in to it that closely though.

There is a good thread on here about views and Touringplans is always a good site for view pictures.

We are planning on spending more time at the resort this time. We were are also talking that we like all the different areas that they have so they can go do their on line classes if they don't want to stay in the room. We are planning on spending maybe 1 or 2 hours at the parks , depending on how safe we feel they are at that time.We got park days for everyday, just in case.
We are actually feeling pretty excited about it!
I do feel that we need a change of scenery, even if we stay more in our rooms or resorts this time!

If you’re spending a lot of time at the resort, I think Boardwalk view is definitely worth it! I think the draw is seeing Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk itself, so you’re not missing much even though there aren’t fireworks.

Enjoy!!

I know that you also own at Riviera like us, and we were also talking about how we really loved the feeling at CBR. We went to the pool bar that is currently open and we loved their drinks and food. We also loved that we just sat by ourselves by the sand area! As well as how big it is and that we can walk back to RR!

We stayed in a preferred studio back in March and we could see the fireworks and the skyliner!
I think standard is anything esle. I will request close to the lobby and see what happens. I actually posted some pictures from our preferred rooms.

Nah if you look up standard views they have direct views of Epcot in some of them.

Not saying preferred wouldn't possibly have FW views as well.

Edit

Just went and looked and it looks like it's the left side most studios that have a view of the standard studios.

Looks like it would be a small group of preferred as well that would have a view of the Epcot fireworks.

It would also seem the standard view is more "straight on" but only looking at pictures on touring plans.

I see, so based on that information, what would be your request for a standard studio ?
we would probably like to stay close to the lobby or the gondolas

Standard View “close to lobby” would put you near the luggage handling area for DME and RAC. Since neither DME nor RAC is handling luggage at this time, it won’t be as noisy as it normally is. I usually request “far from elevator” because the noise level makes it impossible to enjoy the balcony in the morning. If you are “close to lobby/elevator”, you will have a view of the porte cochere and driveway.

The BWV are not close to the gondolas. You have to walk to the International Gateway at EPCOT to catch them.

thank you,
I meant to say for a standard studio or one bedroom at Riviera.
