Uncomfortable sofa bed

I just returned from my 1st stay at OKW and I must agree this Resort is beautiful, the CMs were very nice and I received many Welcome Homes. Since the 1 bedroom accomodated 4 people, my husband and I invited my Sister and Daughter to stay with us. Big mistake! The sofa bed was horrible, they had to sleep on top of the sofa & loveseat. Also, our unit was on the golf course, do they really have to start mowing the lawn at 6:00 in the morning?

Even with these inconveniences, we all had a wonderful time and we will return, but just the 2 of us.

I agree that the sofa bed at OKW is not very comfortable. Although, one person sleeping on it is not as bad, you can find a comfy spot if you have the whole bed to yourself. We usually take a blow up bed or two with us when we stay in a 1 br, it's easier than having the bed out and it's way more comfortable.

Sofa beds are most uncomfortable all around. DSs have taken to removing the mattress and placing it on the floor for one sleeper, then the second uses the sofa cushions. This year we are bringing one blow-up for one and will put down the matterss for the other. Hope this works better for my guys. They are adults now and do not enjoy this part.

My 17 year old daughter slept 2 nights on a sofa bed at BWV, and did not complain. I hoped it was because it was at least sleepable, because she usually complains about everything.

Did you have the old-style sofabed with a bar, or the new style with no bar and a foam mattress? We've heard very good reports about the latter, which all the DVC resorts are slowly switching over to.

If it was the old style sofa bed it can make a big difference if the mattress has been flipped by someone. There truly is a "right side" and a "wrong side". I found out on one trip because it was unbearable compared to previous trips when it had been fine.


Unfortunately, they are mowing a golf course and they have to do it early so that the players can tee off.
