I booked a 5 night Magic plan at the All Star Music in September for a grand total of 1603 including air (2 people).

If you subtract the land portion, the price was about $266/person for air. The going price was $287.

The air war currently going on has put the air from Cleveland to $129.50. I called Disney and they said I could cancel the air since the tickets have not been sent. I called Travelers Advantage to book it. They have a 5% discout with Continental Airlines and will give 5% when you return.

Anyways I now have air for about $117 per person.

Wow!!!

briane,
Thanks for posting. I saw your post and checked Continental's rate from CLE to MCO and was able to get my mom a ticket for $129.50.

I got my package (air from Minneapolis to Orlando) and hotel/passes for 5 nights in September at AsMu for 2 adults for $844.58. I wonder why the big price difference. My airfare was $164 each. My package was $515.68.

Hmm...

Just wondering if the prices you've posted are per person, or for both. I know there were specials at the all stars, room only for $49 + tax/night ($55). Did the packages work out to be better than that + passes?

Briane, I may have this figured wrong. I'll admit, I didn't do all the math....you have the resort magic plan, I would think, as opposed to discovery magic or deluxe magic.
I noticed that you are staying at the All stars and I believe this is a hotel choice in the resort magic and not the other packages. So you have in your package 5 nights hotel, unlimited park passes, a flex feature (or whatever its called these days) and a pin.
It seems like you are looking for bargins (congrats on the good airfare deal!) which I think is good. (Your larger bank account will be a nice thing) But I wonder if you could do better putting together your own "package". Check the resort discounts. The link is on the resorts discussion page. This is what Gillian is referring to. Then take a look at the best price you can get if you were to buy your park hoppers on your own. Don't forget, with parkhoppers, your unused days never expire. And then if you want you can figure out what you are paying for your pin and flex feature.
I mention all of this because before I found this web site, I booked a package for February 1999, it was like the resort magic, for 6 of us. We stayed at Fort Wilderness Cabins and it was peak season. I paid well over $1000. per person and had six 8 day length of stay park passes that cost me more than 6 annual passes would have cost. (Come to think of it, one of our 6 was only 2 years old at the time) We didn't go to the parks at all on one of the days. I know that I over paid for air fare which was included. I just wish that I had known better. Oh well, live and learn. We have made 5 trips to WDW since then and will never blow cash like that package deal cost again. ;) Anyway, have a great trip!!
