Ummm... Yea... Stitch attraction is bad.

That is all. Carry on.
I'm being forced on it on our next trip. It's like some karmic punishment!

We went once when it first opened and I said 'NEVER AGAIN" but a couple of years later I was trying to talk my daughter into riding Space and so it was a trade .. me on Stitch for her on Space.

Fast forward a couple of years and we took our nephew for his first time and I was forced on it again (whole group rides!)

Now this coming summer we're taking another nephew and 2 nieces (and family) and yea, the topic of Stitch was brought up.

WHY DOES MY FAMILY HATE ME SO!?

I actually wanted to yell that to the people who were standing in line for it last weekend! Of course, I didn't because you won't believe how bad it is until you actually see it! :)

I don't think it's that awful, but the original attraction was AMAZING! So scary and intense and still to this day my favorite Disney attraction. I'm still sad it's gone.

It's been a few years - but you sit in the dark waiting for something to happen. Then you hear some people scream/laugh and then it is over. I left thinking to myself - what the heck just happened and why is this even an attraction!

Try it out though - I am sure some people enjoy it - won't know until you try :)

I found Stitch to be rather boring due to the fact that a majority of the "ride" is spent just sitting in the dark with an occasional light flash and loud noises blaring in your ear. I was expecting the room to move in some way due to the "restraints" but those just seemed to be a gimmick to badly simulate someone "jumping" on you.

The original ExtraTerrorEstrial Encounter was so much better, actually scary in a very non-Disney way! I wish they had kept it, or just put in something else rather than turning it into the abomination that is Stitch. Hate it hate it hate it.

When I was there in May my brother and I had a friend with us who was trying to do all the attractions in about a week. He really wanted to do Stitch and I told him, no one is gonna say you didn't do them all if you don't do Stitch. I can't even count it as an attraction. That method did not work, and to Stitch we went. We got off, I gave him the look of "you see what I mean?" He proceeded to laugh and said "never again." HAHA

The restraints are absolutely necessary for safety. The room is in total darkness/pitch black. Imagine the idiot (or child) who got up and tried to exit while all the lights are off!

There is quite often a "hate Stitch attraction"
thread active on the Disney boards.

But before it was reconfigured... there was generally
quite often a "hate Alien Encounter" thread active on the
Disney boards.

AE was, without a doubt, (when it was open) THE most openly-despised, most-reviled, most-vocally-complained-about attraction on this and any other Disney board from the day it opened.

The AE-lovers were certainly in HIDING back then.

I have vivid memories of the dozens and dozens of posts back then that demanded Disney remove the vile AE from the park!

I liked AE, but most people I talked to did NOT.
I still find Stitch to be so SIMILAR to AE that the biggest one I can put my finger on is that S.I.R. is no longer in the PRE-show.

All I can say is that if they ever DO remove this
Stitch attraction, there will be wails of despair from
all the thousands of posters (they will materialize
\out of THIN air) who "LOVED" ('Stitch was AWESOME')
Stitch's Great Escape.

Sounds Dangerous was pitch black and there were no restraints. I think they are used for effect.

By the way, I like the Stitch ride. It's not my favorite and I never experienced it's predecessor but I enjoy it.

Really? What were the typical complaints for AE?

Really? What were the typical complaints for AE?

Yes, really. And, I mean REALLY!
And, just about DAILY.

I was amazed that Disney kept the doors open for as long as they did, there
was so much hate for AE.

"Too dark. Too loud. Too intense. Too scary for kids. The room does not move.
It's not a RIDE. There's no point to it. The shoulder harnesses hurt." (And many more.)

So as much as I complain, it really is just two things:
1. The shouldner harnesses hurt (had to go word for word from Robo ^) They really hurt me. But I'm 6' and extremely overweight.
2. The smell really makes me want to throw up. Really.

The pre-show is cute.

I never went to AE... it was before our first trip. Or, we didn't know it was there. We missed a couple of rides because we didn't find them until after they'd closed. Luckily we just squeeked by on Backstage in HS in 2012. But from everything I read they'd taken a lot out of that ride, so we missed it in its hay-day.
