Ummm, underwear question....

I vote for Barely There! They are the most comfy undies I've ever owned. It's all I buy! And as for the thong....I'd go commando before wearing one! They drive me nuts!

I thought I had seen it all here on the DIS. But I was wrong. I would have never thought of asking about underwear here. Or anywhere, for that matter :rotfl:.

Sorry, the question just really struck me as funny...please don't take offense! Carry on! :)

I swear, I'm not making fun!! But as OCD as I can be about my Disney trips, underwear has ever come up...:rotfl:

what works at home? go with it...

Guys, this question seemed much more normal when I realized last weekend the only clothes that were really making me hot were the ones I wear under my tshirts and shorts..... I thought if anyone would know about cooler clothes, it would be people in love with Disney.....

I go shopping for undies before my holidays......then leave all my new ones at home.
I take my old comfy ones with me, then throw them away after wearing them! ;) Less washing to bring home - and I always have enough to take 2 pairs for each day and a few over for spares. Then when I get home I have a drawer full of new undies waiting for me.

I've always bought underwear & socks before vacation too, but we take the new stuff with us. But I think I like your idea better. And if they lose our suitcase, we don't lose all our new underwear. Just our clothes.

I used to wear Barely There undies, but they just caused issues. So I switched to Victorias Secret and no issues. I usually bring about 3 pairs per day. One for the AM, one for PM (after swim, nap and shower break). Then a third pair just in case. I have OCD about my undies, just look at my tags. :lmao:

Think I am going to do laundry about 1/3 way through visit.

I was in Barely There bras, but gained about 5 more lbs. and had to go up a size, couldn't find Barely There in that size. I am hoping to be back in them by vacation in August. They are so comfy.

For the bottom, I usually use hanes low rise cotton bikini. For the top, I spend almost the entire summer in camis with a built in bra, so I skip the undergarments. Mostly I'll just wear a cami and a skirt, but for a little more coverage I do have a few short sleeve camp shirts that I'll throw on overtop.

Where can you get Barely There??I never heard of it. How is the price??

A thong and a push-up bra. Never a fashion mistake if you ask me.

if you were wondering about comfortable bras...

victoria secret's IPEX!!!

i never wore VS bras because i always wondered why anyone would ever spend 40 dollars on a bra but after i bought my first one, i was addicted. the IPEX come in underwire and i believe without and have to be the most comfortable bra ever...

the victoria secret semi-annual sale started today, so you may even be able to get the IPEX cheaper this week!!!

OK..now I'm not so embarassed because I was having the same issue/question. I've never been to WDW in the summer, so I'm expecting it to be HOT! I ordered a few pairs of Patagonia panties & thongs (moisture wicking). They are great and really do keep me cool! I also bought two pairs of Underarmour boy shorts at Sports Authority. They are nice too (and cool). As for bras...tanks with built in bras is the way to go for me. Though I also bought two Underarmour tees on sale at SA. They are great for sweating in!

When we travel I like to pack light. I like the Barely There brand of women's panties, because (1) they take up next to no room, (2) they dry very quickly if they get wet on a ride, and (3) if you have to hand wash, they dry overnight.
One time I got absolutely SOAKED on Kali River Rapids, down to the skin. Went to the ladies room, took off my undies, put my shorts back on and dried the undies in next to no time under the hand dryer. Hey, it was September and there wasn't anyone else in the ladies room :rotfl2: . There's nothing more miderable than wet underwear!!

OK, obviously I need to clarify my answer...
Dried my undies under the hand dryer, then PUT THEM BACK ON!!!

Barely There is a nylon type of thin panty that dries quickly. To me, cotton stays wet much longer.
Bras aren't much of an issue with me, except that I can't stand anything that rubs. I use Body Glide under the underwires so it doesn't bug me.

Oh, and isn't this the Disney for FAMILIES board??!

Breezies Appliqued Seamless Bras w/ UltimAir Lining

I saw these on QVC and ended up buying 2 of them off ebay - brand new!

Here's what it says:

Feel comfortable and confident underneath it all in these sleek, seamless bras from the Breezies(R) Collection.

Made from silky soft microfiber, the modern design is lightweight, breathable, and perfectly appointed for everyday wear. Seam-free for a flawless finish, it provides an exceptionally smooth fit under close-fitting fabrics--and is as pretty as it is practical, with a hint of floral applique on the straps and cups. Each cup is lined with UltimAir(R) fabric, a revolutionary material that transports moisture away from the body so you stay cool and dry. Adjustable elastic straps and a triple-adjustable back closure help you find the perfect fit.

I bought them last year before my August WDW trip - they kept me cool and I'm still wearing them. But I think it's time to buy a few more for my August 07 WDW trip! They come in white and nude colors.

...because bras under $40 don't hold up really big...uh...well you know! :rotfl2: I hope none of you subscribe to the budget board but I usually pay anywhere from $90 to $125 fro bras.....anyway...my 13 year ol really likes the Victorias Secret coton bras. (made out of t shirt material) They are light and comfortable and come in a variety of styles. www.victoriassecret.com

Definitely a cotton. Something that BREATHES!! Thong type panties and silk like boxers don't do much when walking around a huge park in the heat!! Definitely have something that's a little more absorbent for water rides and such..

Okay, so apparently just adding to what I already have would be fine....But what about bras? The ones I have now all have padding and underwire and as I'm sure you all know these will not be very comfy in Florida in June for a whole day at Disney World. I am an average size (B or C) and not trying to spend a zillion dollars on bras but definitely need some new ones before Friday. Any suggestions?

Underwire bras also set off the metal detector in the airport.

The underpants I like are sold at Costco, made of microfiber, very cool, don't trap moisture, great for hot climates, no chafing.
