We leave on Friday. DH and I both need more underclothing anyway. Anticipating a shopping trip this week, what would everyone suggest for the most comfortable under clothes for Disney and where can I get it? TIA

When we travel I like to pack light. I like the Barely There brand of women's panties, because (1) they take up next to no room, (2) they dry very quickly if they get wet on a ride, and (3) if you have to hand wash, they dry overnight.
One time I got absolutely SOAKED on Kali River Rapids, down to the skin. Went to the ladies room, took off my undies, put my shorts back on and dried the undies in next to no time under the hand dryer. Hey, it was September and there wasn't anyone else in the ladies room :rotfl2: . There's nothing more miderable than wet underwear!!

I prefer my cotton grannie panties, they seem to be the best. I own a ton of them in plain white, so I usually grab at least a pair for each day, and then a few extra. I bring, my normal undies for my nights out...LOL

I go shopping for undies before my holidays......then leave all my new ones at home.
I take my old comfy ones with me, then throw them away after wearing them! ;) Less washing to bring home - and I always have enough to take 2 pairs for each day and a few over for spares. Then when I get home I have a drawer full of new undies waiting for me.

I LOVE that idea!

That's hilarious! I'll have to keep that in mind. I'm not a big wet ride person anyways, especially since I'm sure I'll be on baby duty most of the day w/ our youngest.

Why wouldn't you just wear whatever you already find comfortable? :confused3

Okay, so apparently just adding to what I already have would be fine....But what about bras? The ones I have now all have padding and underwire and as I'm sure you all know these will not be very comfy in Florida in June for a whole day at Disney World. I am an average size (B or C) and not trying to spend a zillion dollars on bras but definitely need some new ones before Friday. Any suggestions?

Commando, always commando. Then there is never any question about what to wear and never any wash worries. Truly it is so much cooler and just a bit naughty.

 :rotfl: What happens if you rip your shorts? :confused3
Hello Frisco!!:lmao:

Okay, it has to be said...thongs!:rotfl:

No panty lines on your jeans or shorts, no elastic cutting into your skin after hours of walking, less fabric to dry after wet rides, and no bunched up fabric in your trousers that you can't fix in public.

The low rise kind can easily avoid any "peek-a-boo" straps on your waistline when you sit down (if you buy hanes it'll list it in large lettering on the bag), the cotton kind breathe easily and are very comfortable, and you can buy a pack of 4 for about 6$ at Target.

As far as bras go, I think the best thing I've found is the sport tops with built in support. They can be found at many major retail stores in the sports section. There are many different styles and colors, and I've also found that the sports type tend to breathe a bit easier and dry faster than regular fashion store support shirts.

If you buy any undergarments for your vacation please please remember- Go nude! The best color for any bra or undie is nude! If you get wet, any color, even white undergarments will show up against your skin color. Your best bet is to shop around for a nice match to your skin tone, a darker nude won't match well with fair skin, and vice versa. :)

Good luck shopping, and have fun!

Jockey brand panties. I have to warn you though that it'll be hard to go back to any other brand, especially a less expensive one. I used to only wear the Barely There brand, but these are sooo much better.

While we're on the topic of panties, has anyone else ever wondered why all the ads for men's underwear make such a big deal of "won't ride up" as a big selling point, but that little factor is rarely ever mentioned in ads for women's underwear? Do they think that we only care about how pretty our underwear is and find it completely acceptable if our panties are in our a**?

As a B I can get away w/ the smaller bras in the barely there brand too. It's lightweight which works well in wet situations (I'm assuming, you don't want to be too risque) and would dry fast as well. It's really up to you. I would feel more comfy is my lightly lined, underwired VS bra over a new bra from Target. :thumbsup2

HAHA! I did that, I got soaked on that also, so I took off my underwear and put my shorts back on, much more comfortable, and put my underwear in my bag. :rotfl: :rotfl:

This thread is so funny.

I've never put much thought into vacation underwear.:confused3 I just make sure I have strapless bras for the tank/halter tops, and black undies to wear under my white shorts or skirts.

Beyond that, I don't worry about material or style. If they're good enough for home, I figure they're good enough for vacation.

I thought I had seen it all here on the DIS. But I was wrong. I would have never thought of asking about underwear here. Or anywhere, for that matter :rotfl:.

Sorry, the question just really struck me as funny...please don't take offense! Carry on! :)
