I am seriously considering not bringing a stroller for my daughter who is 5 but I know that her feet are going to hurt so badly at the end of the day. she weighs almost 80lbs and is super tall for her age does anyone know of any light weight smaller strollers that will hold her and that wont cost me a ton of money?????

Id rent one of the strollers at Disney, that way you can use it of you need it

I agree about renting a Disney stroller. I have never heard of a stroller that holds 100 pounds...unless it was a double stroller. My dd is 4 and weighs 32 pounds. We have a Mac Volo and a Mac Quest, and both of these strollers hold up to 55 pounds.

I agree, the Disney strollers also are better for taller kids because they have the piece that goes under the legs. With an umbrella stroller you risk long legs making feet drag on the ground.

Also, have you considered mid-day breaks? That can help with hurting feet (and tired kids!) and eliminate the need for a stroller.

Question...If your child is super tall how is she going to fit in the stroller? Second, are you going to want to PUSH a 80lb child + the 20LB stroller around the parks all day? This to me seems like a bad idea. Take some breaks, relax, watch a parade, drink some water, watch a show.

In your case, I'd rent a WDW double - they're more wagon-ish than stroller-ish. The last time we went, I would put 3 of mine in (2 almost 5 year olds, average sized, and my almost 7 year old, small - she only weighs 60 pounds now, and she's almost 11). They'd just hop in and out. Their combined weight was probably around 100 pounds.

How close to 80lbs is she? Kingdom Strollers has one that is rated to 75lbs. We are going with them in march because they also sell cases of water! Big bonus to have that delivered and waiting with our stroller!! We rented from Orlando Stroller in Oct 2010 and were very happy with them also. I have an almost 8 yr old who tires easy and we are renting to keep everyone happ :)

You will probably either need to rent a park stroller - a double if she's that tall or rent a special needs stroller which has higher weights. My dd8 is 72 lbs and 51" and there's no way she would fit in any umbrella stroller. We had a MacLaren Volo when she was younger and the last time she used it (we were at WDW) it she was 5 (almost 6) and no where near the weight of your dd and it definitely did not push that well - I was afraid it would break.

We will def be doing breaks and trying to watch as many shows as possible but at the time we are going it is peak crowds the numbers are 10s for crowd levels so I am just worried about there being no strollers left when I get there we are going to be at all the openings so im going to hope we can get one does anyone know how much they cost

There are a few umbrella strollers that go up that high, but I think they very pricy. Your best bet would be to get to the parks at rope drop and renting one from WDW.

So does Disney ever run out of strollers?? I am so undecided about if I am going to rent from Disney or Kingdom Strollers!!! It is really stressing me out!! I am worried my daughter will be too tall for the Kingdom Stroller.

I agree that renting a park stroller on an as-needed basis is a good option.

Another alternative is a Mountain Buggy Urban, if any of the rental outfits have it. Mine, at least (which admittedly is 8 years old, so I can't speak for the newer models) is rated up to 100 lbs. It's not inexpensive nor is it an umbrella stroller, though.

I found a place that rents the Mountain Buggy Urban! Orlando Strollers To Go! I am almost 100% sure this is who I am going with. They said it comfortably fits a child up to 52inches. I am so torn because I like the idea of using a park stroller and not having to take it on/off the buses BUT a park stroller is twice the cost of an outside company because I have to get a double stroller if I go with the parks.

Take a stroller, my DD was 6 when we visited WDW *early Oct 2009* it was way too hot and humid, we took mid day naps daily. She spent a lot of time in her stroller *Mac Volo* she was/is fairly petite.
