Umbrella stroller has no basket :(

but I really want to use it for our trip because it has Disney Cars on it. And what really irks me is when you do have a bag hanging on the back it falls right over when the child gets up ANY tips on how to fix this? I'm wondering if I can even rig some kind of "basket" under it

Well, perhaps you could take a fabric basket off another stroller. I love zip ties for connecting things, they would surely work if it has a hole that can used to hold it in place.

I know this sounds simplistic but take a backpack. We never bother with the basket under our umbrella stroller except maybe for the occasional jumper.

I agree--we used a backpack with our umbrella strollers. We've had a few different kinds (mostly Maclaren). We found if we needed to, we could hang the backpack on "backwards" and that would usually be enough not to tip over the stroller...it puts more of the weight in closer to the center of the stroller instead of towards the back. Hopefully that makes sense.

I read a great tip on these boards for tippy strollers....secure velcro ankle/wrist weights above the front wheels. Of course, this makes the stroller heavier when transporting via bus.

We just used the Maclaren Stroller Organizer bag hanging on the back, and then when a kid got up, flipped it (still attached to the handles) into the seat. It acted like "kid weight" and wouldn't flip over.

We used zip ties to put an old fannypack on the bottom of our umbrella stroller and used it for panchos and a change of clothes for the kids and extra diapers...it worked great to put things we didnt always need out of the way!
