Hi everyone,
We have decided to bring a stroller not only for our almost 2year old but one for our 5 year old as well, the problem being is the strollers that we currently have seem a little tiny for him. (I cannot remember what style it is but we have an Eddie Bauer, not that it matters).
I was wondering if anyone could advise me of a comfortable stroller for my 5 year old or even a double stroller that would have storage and be comfortable for both himself and his 2 year old brother to cruise around in.
We are staying for 10 days so I would rather not rent a stroller and we are also staying at the Boardwalk so I am really looking forward to walking to Epcot and to MGM and that would be pretty tiring for his skinny little legs.

Thank you all very much.

We traveled to WDW at the end of August with our 5 year old, 2 year old and 9 month old. We brought a P3 for the baby and a Maclaren Twin Traveller for the older boys. My five year old is tall for his age and very skinny, I was afraid he would tucker out if made to walk all the time. He did great in the double stroller. The Maclarens hold up to 55 pounds per seat and we anticipate bringing it with us for a few more years. It was easy to fold and :wave2: manuever even fully loaded. A bit pricey though. Found a 2004 model brand new at Albeebaby.com for a great price plus free shipping. Good luck!

I don't think a tandem would be too comfortable for a 5 yo unless he sat up front. I think the sit n stand would be a good idea or get a buggy board to snap onto the stroller. I think a Maclaren double can hold up to 55 lbs each side so that may work, if it's not too narrow.

We have a Maclaren Twin traveler for our youngest two(3 and 15mos) and a Buggyboard that attaches to the back of it for our 6yr old. We like the Mac b/c it is solid, reclines separately, hold 55.bs each side. There is an umbrella stoller that has a foot stand built into it for the older kid. Have fun shopping!

Thanks so much everyone!
I feel silly asking but what is a "buggy board"? Being from Canada I don't think that I have ever ran across one.

thanks again
Kristin

Mac Mac Mac Mac. You can probably pick up an older year model for a good price, less than a rental. I know that Marshall's had some old Volo's in stock for $50-60.

We just went last week with our 3-year-old and our very tall 44-pound 5-year-old. We took two Maclaren Volos and they were fabulous. Very lightweight and the carry strap is a godsend when boarding buses, etc. while juggling kids, strollers, and backpack. The 5-year-old did great in the Volo--no problems with steering and he was able to sit very comfortably. He could put his feet up on the footrest without feeling too cramped. He didn't ride all the time but when he did it was very nice to have the stroller available.
Have a fun trip!

I agree with the Maclaren Volo. We ordered one for our princess: DD(who will be turning 7 at Disney) to use for this trip. Cheaper than a rental and I can resell it. I wish I had seen these YEARS ago!! They are truely a GREAT stroller. They are a bit more costly, but you get what you pay for. You would get years of use out of one since you have a 2 yr. old also. It holds up to 55 pounds (DD is about 44) and pushes like a dream. Good luck in your searching!!

I also bought the Maclaren Volo. My son is 5 and about 50 lbs. My DH is 6'4", and I'm 5'9" so that shows you how tall he is. He JUST fits in it. But it does work though, and it was the best solution for us. Also its everything everyone says it is. We love it. And he asks sometimes "bring the stroller" We'll be using it this Nov in Disney

I have a sit n stand that I bought on ebay and used only for 1 trip with my 2 kids at 18 mos and 5 1/2. It worked well. My kids too big for it now, so it is gathering dust in my basement. It was so worth the $150 I paid for it, even though I only used it for 10 days.
