ULTRA RARE Character Autographs!!!

OK . . . I've posted some of these pics on various other character-related threads, but I've never had them all in one place so here goes.

In 2004, I lost my autograph book @ WDW that I had been collecting character signatures in. It didn't have any super-rare or special ones in it, but I had been collecting signatures in it for several years so obviously I was somewhat upset. Well, one of my relatives heard of my "loss" and got in touch with Disney and . . . well I'll get to that later. Just in case Disney didn't respond to my relative's letter, she had her colleague (spell check?), who was visiting Orlando, go to WDW and see if she could collect some autographs for me. . . the only thing was that my relative's friends wasn't anticipating the high ticket prices to get in! She explained the situation to CMs, go let her in FREE OF CHARGE (no lie!) just to collect autographs. A CM escorted her around MK and took her to the front of every character line! These were all addressed w/ a special message. (I was unaware of all this until a long while later.)

Well, it turns out that all that trouble didn't have to be taken anyways, because Disney did respond to my relative's letter and sent an entire Autograph Book, filled with ULTRA RARE autographs, plus a hand-written note to me from Mickey Mouse himself! You can imagine my elation when I opened this package on Christmas! Anyway, here are some scans of the letter from MM, plus some of the rare autographs that were in the book (I know some of these are not rare, but I will post them anyway since they have a special message on them). Some of them I have NEVER, EVER seen in the parks.

I know you can meet Bullseye, but he doesn't sign, right?

I know these next two aren't super-rare, but they're rare to me!

I know Woody is pretty common, but doesn't he use a stamp?

And my personal favorite . . .

This one isn't from the book that Disney sent me, but it is worth mentioning, while we're on the topic of rare autographs:

I had a very nice castmember at MGM do something similar for me, since she saw my website and wanted to help out, and gave me an autograph book filled with some unusual autographs! It's great when Disney shows their magic!

I never seen Pete's autograph before! I consider him Disney World's #1 missing character - Disney needs to get him out greeting!!

We had fun getting the autographs this week, although we missed quite a few...ok ALOT..hahaha but hey that leaves more to do on the NEXT Disney trip right?

I guess I should start marking off my character list....

What about Syndrome? He is my fave! I would love to have his autograph, or at least see him out and about, but I never have. He is always conspicuously missing from among the villians.

I agree! They put out Clarice (which is great and all, but she's only been in one cartoon), but there's no sign of Pete, whose been there since the beginning in Steamboat Willie! Maybe one of these days we'll see him . . .

Hope you had a great trip! I wish they would put out Pete, too. But that was from the book that Disney mailed, not from the one that my relative's friend when around the park with. They should also put out Mortimer Mouse.

Thanks - I agree when I heard the whole story after it was all said and done, I couldn't believe they let her in! I guess that's just one more thing that sets Disney apart from the rest

BTW - I forgot a few when posting yesterday:

I've never, EVER seen Simba before and I believe Pooh usually doesn't sign "Winnie".

When we were on our honeymoon, we got a few neat messages from the characters.

We got:

"Congrats! Your Pal, Mickey Mouse"

"Good Luck! Luv, chip"

"congrats [heart] dale"

"CONGRATS Stitch"

"Congratulations! Cinderella"

Tweedledee and Tweedledum signed upside down (Do they always do that?)

Donald Duck put a "#1" after his name. (Does he normally do that?)

I'm not sure which of these are rare but maybe someone could tell me:

Those are neat messages! The Tweedles always sign upside-down, and Donald usually puts "#1" by his name as well (he especially makes a point of doing it when you have any item related to Mickey on your person).

Remy and Emile are out regularly, but can only be found @ the Magic of Disney Animation in MGM. Jiminy Cricket is becoming more common, as he greets daily w/Pocahontas & Rafiki at Rafiki's Planet Watch in Animal Kingdom. Flick is pretty rare, though, I've never seen him. You would think they would put him out near Its TOugh to be a Bug, but as far as I've heard he's not currently there. Congrats again!

I had a similar experience back in 98. I decided for my first time to start collecting autographs. On my last day I lost my autograph book. But since I had my name and adress in the front I thought maybe someone would turn it in so I filled out a lost and found form at City Hall.

About a month later I get a package from WDW. I open it up and see an autograph book and boy am I happy that they found my book. But then when I opened it up I saw that Mickey himself had filled out my name and address at the beginning of the book and he and his pals had signed all new autographs for me!!!

Penguin(signed right after Mary Poppins)
Meeko
Darkwing Duck
Robin Hood
Max
Launchpad McQuack
Eeyore(he signed his lower case e backward and has a cloud above it)
Dopey(an actual signature)
Rafiki(he made his R into a staff)
The Mad Hatter
Timon
and...
Merlin

This is one of my prized possessions from WDW. It was one of the things that pushed me over the edge to becoming a big Disney fan.

I can scan in any of the above signatures that someone wants to see.
