Ultimate WDW Fan--Travel Channel

LOOKING FOR THE ULTIMATE WALT DISNEY WORLD FAN FOR A NEW TRAVEL CHANNEL SHOW

The Travel Channel is producing a new show in Orlando, Florida tentatively entitled, “Ultimate Fan’s Guide to Walt Disney World” which will feature the definitive insider’s look at the world’s most loved theme park from a fan’s point of view.

At this time we are casting for Ultimate Fans who, not only have made Disney a large part of their everyday lives, but can also share information on getting the most out of every Disney vacation; from maximizing your trip on a budget to minimizing wait time in lines.

If you think you’re the Ultimate Disney Fan, here’s what you need to do. First, complete the online submission form below and attach a photograph of yourself and your family and/or friends. Then send us a 5 minute video “resume” telling us why you are the Ultimate Walt Disney World Fan. Don’t forget to share your insightful tips about each theme park along with footage of how you have incorporated the “magic” into your everyday life. The deadline for all video submissions is March 10, 2004. All video submissions must be 5 minutes or less.

The show is looking to cast the following groups of Ultimate Fans:
• Parents and two teenage kids
• A multigenerational family which includes a Mom & Dad with children between the ages of 3-5 years old and either Grandpa/Grandma or Aunts & Uncles
• Young married couple (preferably, but not limited to, married at Walt Disney World)
• Three thirty-something year old friends

Each group will have to know the ins and outs of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks to save vacationers time, money and enhance their overall experience.

How cool! Wouldn't it be great if all the parts were filled by DISers?

I would love to apply, but since we're only planning our second trip to the world I doubt we'd have enough experience. Although my family and friends think I must know everything there is to know about WDW!

OK I'm not in their demographic either. But I am at 49 y.o. femaile who is a complete disneyholic. Every friend I have calls me when they or anyone they know is coming to WDW to be their personal guide. Who wants to be a part of my multigeneraltional "Family"?

we applied and it said that you had to be availble like the last week of March or on APril 5th. Lucky for us we are celebrating our honeymoon from the 5th on, so maybe they will pick us. THat would truly be magical.

Yes we got a call too-actually my sister did!! Orignally she got called awhile ago but wasnt home. When she returned their call she was told that they would be calling back with some questions.

Then we re-read the post about it and noticed they wanted a video. So, yesterday they called making sure a video was on its way to them. They told me they were keeping their eyes open for it so keep your fingers crossed for us please!

The original post was out sometime in January but did not require a video. This whole video thing came out last week i think!

Not to be a snit about this because it doesn't really even matter, but, actually, the original post did NOT include a request for a video. If you check the original post in the thread you linked to, zurgswife, you'll see that the poster edited it on the 29th of February. (Just like I just did when I re-read this post and realized I left my brains on my other screenname and had to fix some stuff.)


With that being said, I applied to the original post, which requested a 150 word essay and a couple of emailed pictures. They called me the day after I sent my submission and said they'd be calling back to do the phone interview. In between that time and last week, I read the edited post and sent in a video, which they called me back anyways to request.

We'll see what happens!!

I would have but we aren't married, nor will we be. Theys houd have made it just, young comitted couple. Or young singles. None of my friends like Disney so the three young freinds wouldn't work for me either.
