Ultimate Ticket

We purchased the 14 day ultimate ticket when we booked the POFQ direct with Disney.
Can anyone tell me if the tickets will be activated as soon as we check-in or when we visit our first park. We may not go to a park on the first day, might just check out the resort and Downtown Disney?

The ticket isn't activated until you first use it at a park, or Disney Quest at Downtown Disney.

David is right, we like to spend our last day at Epcot so we dont go to a park on the first night. We allways spend the first night by catching the ferry that runs between Riverside, POFQ and DTD. It is a nice way to relax after the flight.
